I would put Krebs in the Cozens category
But even show him and 2 late firsts are not nearly enough
Krebs, Tuch and 2 late firsts are an okay package but I would want a 2nd high end prospect, hence the third team option - Stripes77

Rasmus Ristolainen tells
@SiriusXMNHL
he had mixed emotions when he got the trade call. He enjoyed his time in #Buffalo. Loved the city and the people. Thanked ownership, trainers, therapists for everything. #Buffalo will always be in his heart.
Risto as a person is going to be missed. - Stripes77
Yes, absolutely

Odds on favorite to win the Eichel sweepstakes imo is Vegas then Montreal. I don't see Minnesota, LA or Anaheim making a serious push. Vegas and Montreal are in a better position to win now.
Just how it seems to be going lately. - sabresfan69
Only way Mtl is in a position to win now is another short season in a North conference. They just lost Weber for next year, probably more, and Price might miss the majority of the season. If Denault walks, there goes their defensive ace, and while Caufield and Suziki are good, I don't think they can win in an arms race against the big boys of the league quite yet. Conversely, Minny is in a decent spot to make some noise if they get Eichel. |

I dont see a team giving up a package of
Tuch
Krebs
another high end prospect
2022 1st
2023 1st.
That is overestimating the return we are going to receive for him. Especially in a salary cap era - thats running flat for years

You really think with a new franchise and a new TV deal the cap will be flat for years? |

All the more reason to get the best package from MTL. Higher draft picks for us, We get to boo him several times a year, and the arch enemy of his hometown Bruins. Not to mention tremendously high taxes....

I didn't say that, I'm saying that they aren't in this great win now position. They are for sure down 2 of their 5 best playoff performers, possibly 3 in Denault. They were barely in the playoffs in the weakest division, while the Wild were firmly in the playoffs in a much tougher division. Montreal had the lowest point totals of any playoff team, and had a losing record last year.. They went 24-21-11, and caught lightning in a bottle in the playoffs. They aren't by any stretch in a win now window. |

If they give the best package, I'm all for it. I just highly doubt they will. |

Marc Bergevin mentions that he doesn’t expect to see Shea Weber back next season and probably longer. On Carey Price injuries. Nothing alarming according to the @CanadiensMTL GM but he could be out 6 to 8 weeks.

Gotcha. Even so, he was Carey Price in the playoffs, but was not that great in the regular season. I just don't think they are drastically in a win now type of window. |

If we took Johnson from Tampa no salary retained could we get cirelli and a pick?
With all the cap space would be interesting to see if Adams could pull that off. |

Do you guys ever use the Cap Central tab on the site? It's good. Take a look at the UFA List for 2022. Holy S, try not to cream your jeans. I understand a lot can change between now and then, but Sabres will be in a position to back up the Brinks trucks. The Dynasty is right around the corner. |

Well they were in the Cup this year. Unless they thought it was a fluke, they are in a win now situation and a #1 center might get them over the hump. |

Not a chance
Cirelli is basically an untouchable without having a NMC
We could get Johnson and a 2nd though if he would waive his NTC

This for sure.
Everyone in the habs organization is building off the Stanley cup appearance.
Absolutely trying to win now.

The only issue I can see is it was a complete fluke.
They were the last team to sneak in the playoffs and only because they played in the "North" division. Now they have to play in the toughest division in hockey, Carey Price who carried them through the playoffs is having surgery, and we all know how hard it is for a goalie to carry a team.
If anything they're more likely a bottom 10 team than a contender. This is exactly why I want an unprotected 1st from them if they trade Eichel to Montreal

You said Mtl was in more of a win now then Minnesota. I disagreed, gave you my interpretation of why I disagreed, and based upon what each team would have to give up for an Eichel trade (Suzuki for Mtl, a current player vs Rossi a guy who didn’t play) is hardly arguing to argue. It’s a message board man. If me saying literally the team that finished with 16 less points and 11 less wins in a 56 game season is not in a better spot to trade for Eichel, and this offends you, then I apologize. |

I completely agree. Very flukey cup run. Tough division.
I thought the question was : Do you think Montreal believes they can win? Or something close.
I absolutely believe bergevin and the decision makers go all in next year. The press and pressure of montreal added in as well.
Won if habs fans have faith is the Sabres winning the 1st OA again? 🤔
