With a flat cap and with them saying they want to be a contender right away and with the rumours the nucks and Pete are FAR apart on salary it would be awesome to see Francis offer sheet someone like E.Pettersson to really stir up a rivalry.
In saying this, in 15 minutes nucks will prob sign him long term. *nowhere in here does it say I think it’ll happen* |

Think outside the box. - Rinosaur
So the Flyers are definitely signing Yandle for only 900k...I know he's not what he once was but for a 3rd pairing and maybe sometimes jump up because of injury for that price I think its good.
Pens' D costs too much.
Also, that Ovi signing makes me weary of Geno and Tangs extensions... |

wouldn't be too worried about an extension for Geno. He won't get that much or that long. |

Was thinking the same thing with that Ovi contract. I do not want to give Geno 9.5. sorry but just no. I'd give Geno 7.1 Max. And honestly Tanger has already been a good contract his whole career so idk if he'll go lower but let's do his number as well at 5.8 haha. |

He's a good low risk/high reward signing for sure. My point earlier is that Philly doesn't seem to have any real direction in their decisions. It doesn't look like they're trying for a certain identity.
I don't think the Ovi signing will affect anything. If I'm recalling properly, Geno plans on signing a more friendly contract so the team can bring in better guys.

Hextall probably had his guys picked out well before any of the recent drama went down. The only plans that I could see change would be to now push for a fleury deal if he refuses to go to chicago and even at that I think the pressure on him for that deal would come from ownership. |

Not sure exactly why these GMs are slobbering over an aging and pedestrian goaltender who Isn't going to get any younger or better. |

HELL NO to Fleury return.
the LAST thing I want is to falsely have my hopes built up again by a team playing well--maybe even over its head-- only to have its playoff run sabotaged--YET AGAIN--by Marc Andre Fleury allowing the SOFTEST possible goal at the WORST possible time. I've Smelled that Fish Before--and it stinks.
Vegas has treated him horribly, no doubt. But its not the Pens job to Save Flower....
Is he better than Jarry, yes. But Best case, you are only setting yourself up for another post season short circuited by your goalie at some point. |

It's truly a shame he won't ever get better than Vezina caliber though. |

Ovi is a special case. Sort of like Aaron, he's chasing a Ruthian type record, he's durable, and his box cars are still elite. |

TIOPS reporting the Pens main targets in FA tomorrow is Saad and Bogosian, but that the coaching staff is really pushing to re-sign Ceci. |

I'd have to think Bogo would be way cheaper.
