Blackhawks just keep helping out the top contenders. This summer has had some odd moves.

Not broken up about any of these. I think Schwartz would have been good but we’ve known he was going to Seattle for a while now. Suter would have been nice if we did a complete tear down of the left side of the blue line, but I’m not sure we’ll do that and I have a feeling his contract won’t be very good.

Me neither, liked the idea of cheap RW (we're thin here) Parise in the bottom 6, but certainly not going to lose sleep over it. I do believe he's a strong candidate to out perform his next contract...if he stays healthy....

My too many moving parts perfect offseason plan would have been a complete tear down of the left blue line, trading Petts and Matheson for cap, signing Saad, Tatar, and Parise to fill our three forward holes, identify a value bottom 4 LD either by trade or free agency, and leave the 3LD slot open to a Riikola/POJ competition. Bring in Fleury at retention.

Saad-Malkin-Kapanen
Zucker-Carter-Tatar
ZAR-Blueger-Parise/WBS

Can you imagine the carnage that would have taken place if GMJR was still here? Probably would have given Seattle next years first to avoid taking Blueger, probably would have made an overpay to get Fleury back here, and then spent the remaining cap money on Nick Bonino.

Seriously though, this is one of the craziest times in recent memory for player movement and there is a lot of opportunity to make big impact moves. I sure hope Hextall has a master plan and isn't just playing it safe with minimal moves.

I have a gut feeling he does nothing but maybe sign a cheap plug. With the players moved so far and the costs it seems asinine that petts or MM, and zucker couldn’t be moved for cap space.
