I've been kind of hoping they find a way to sign Saad...it'd add a bit of a dynamic that the team doesn't really have on the wing. But I don't know...that would have probably required them moving Komarov and Hickey out for more cap space days ago. |

It would've been fine to sign him if Greene wasn't coming back, but he can't handle top-4 minutes - eichiefs9
I brought up Chara last week. 1 year $1m. Bring back to his origins for one last year. Rocking chair tour. |

Saad would be an excellent addition. But if Palmieri is coming back and Parise is pretty much a guarantee....where's he going to play?
Not endorsing the idea, but you could sign Saad and trade Beau for someone like Dunn. |

I agree. No Greene and Chara would have been nice. |

And why would TB take Seabrooks contract? Are they planning on flipping it to AZ with a couple draft picks? Use it for LTIR cap space? |

LTIR cap space. The same thing we should do by acquiring Ryan Kesler. |

I just mean either Greene or Chara should've been signed for that 3rd pair LD spot. Can't play both of them. I'd have been happy with either. |

If they also take a chance on a younger, cheap d-man with upside, then bringing Chara in would be awesome. Maybe you could rotate the younger guy in on the left side and rest Chara and Green throughout the season. Or I guess they could just give Aho a fair look this season in that same role. |

No way you can play both. I guess Greene had to be signed for the draft? |

When your sources are a sports-talk radio show, you can't report anything until they say it. |

Someone will completely skim over the part where I don't endorse it and tell me I'm insane for wanting to trade Beau and not be joking - eichiefs9

There's a strong market for veteran 'D' in free agency: Word is that both Ian Cole and Cody Ceci will get north of $3M annually on their new contracts.
Ceci is leaning towards Edmonton, as @FriedgeHNIC and others have reported, on what's believed to be a four-year term.
This is what you'd call "bad news" for the Isles. They may have to go the trade route for a d-man. If Cody Ceci is signing $3Mx4 deals then the market is (frank)ed |

Just got a big scoop from one of my sources. Lou is probably going to re-sign one or more of our UFA's. He also may or may not sign a UFA from outside of the Isles camp. |

Lots of doom and gloom on Isles Twitter today. Like, it's down to "the sun will rise tomorrow" posts and nothing's even gone wrong yet!
For me, Parise's the one I'm least excited about. Can't imagine he has too much gas left in the tank. Wouldn't mind him as a fall-back option, but it sounds like he's the top choice. Oh well!
I really hope they get Palmieri signed. I see him as a more-physical Eberle, and I think that'll free up even more room for Barzal with Palmieri crashing the boards on one side and Lee on the other (if Palmieri plays on that line this season!)
Defense is my biggest concern. I don't think the Isles can just go with a stopgap option there after losing so much skating ability on the back end over the past two offseasons. They need to find someone who can cover a lot of ice, either with raw speed or with great anticipation, which will help Mayfield as well as he can just do his thing without having to worry about covering too much ice himself.
I don't know...I'm more excited today than worried, though. Whatever team they throw out on the ice next season, Trotz will have them ready to play. - UIF
I’m with you on this though I would like to see Palmieri signed along with Komarov not in the lineup. I think a lot diminish the impact that hole Leddy left is going to have on the lineup. |

The sources are really buzzing today. I've heard from a few people that the Islanders have secured an arena deal and will have a brand new facility located at the Belmont Racetrack |
