My understanding is that Boston, Minnesota and the New York Islanders are the most likely options for free-agent defenseman Alex Goligoski. - eichiefs9

Nope. MDC's replacement. |

Yep. Probably be a good signing. I believe I read that he only missed 22 games over the life of his deal in ARI. Depends on price, obviously. But he's still a player. |

I think it would be a nice signing. Still a concern with his age and Greene's. |

He is 35 we could sign him on the cheap |

That’s absurd. Goligoski can skate. And score. And rub his belly whilst patting his head simultaneously. |

A valid concern. Doubt if he gets more than two years. |

Meh -- he averaged 23min/gp with ARI. He won't see that much ice time here and he probably won't get much time on the PP. He was on the Yotes second unit (going by PP TOI) and got much less ice time than the other three. I'd be more than happy to sign him for the right price. |

I'm just worried about the playoffs and what both players will have left. Would be nice if Bolduc can step in later in the year for Greene. |

Agreed. Once a player hits 33, I start to cringe when I hear term over 2 years. Really no way of knowing what a persons body will do over the next few years. How it will break down or hold up. |

I still would sign Goligoski. I'm more worried about Greene after seeing him during this past playoff. |

Not really sure. He's coming off a deal where he was making just under $5.5M. I was hoping Suter, if he signed here, would come in around $4M or less. I'd probably hope about the same for Goligoski. He signed that deal 5 years ago and I doubt he can get as much at age 36 |

Would be nice for Goligoski or Suter to take a little less to join the Isles especially Suter who knows Barry. This has to be the offseason the Isles get some of their prime FA targets. |

Remember that game vs NJD when he scored on his first shift, then got injured. Poor guy couldn't stay healthy. |

So then are you still looking to replace Leddy? If not, then who is picking up his ice time? If so, then who is the odd man out and why spend the money?
I'm not saying I wouldn't want Goly, just if he's not going to be expected to take the majority of Leddy's TOI and point production, then what are we signing him for. |

Leddy averaged less TOI last year than Goligoski. So....Goligoski.
Leddy had a lot of PP time and virtually no PK time. Goligoski the opposite. In fact, he had more PK time than Leddy did PP time.
There is no odd man out. Leddy is the odd man out. |

Ok, no need to yell and get all defensive. Just asking a question. Jeez. |
