Upstate's forward group that you all like so much has Lee being double shifted on the first and second lines! - UIF
It’s like Schwein created that lineup. |

$22.5m. Not bad at all...4 and change for a cap hit? |

Leaves the Blues with just over $8.5M in cap space to sign Thomas/Kyrou/Sanford/Barbashev
Have to imagine this means that they are confident that Tarasenko will get moved and/or it's getting close to going down
edit: Gross agrees with me

Would think this makes a Tarasenko trade even more inevitable. Perhaps. |

At this point, how much would it even take to acquire Tarasenko? The Blues have kinda backed themselves into a corner here. |

I don't know, but I'm wracking my brain trying to figure out what exactly we could offer without giving up Beau. Maybe one of Bolduc or Salo (plus Bellows and maybe other assets) gets it done.
Either that, or Lou goes full-on no emotion and trades Bailey |

Yep, agree. We'll see where he goes...
I'd take Saad at $4.5 over Tarasenko at $7.5 though! |

Possibly. He likely won't replicate the offensive production he had last year playing on a real good line with Kadri and Burakovsky though. He's good defensively and would have been a great fit for the third line, but that was pretty much dead the minute word got out that Parise deal was all but done here
The upside of Tarasenko is so tantalizing. If he's healthy, he'll probably easily put up 30 playing with Barzal and Lee, plus he'd vastly improve the PP. Imagine having him and either Wahlstrom or Palmieri out there on the same PP? That'd be two elite-to-very good shooters out there at once. Obviously we know the downside though, can't ignore that. |

It’s funny you mention Bailey. I’ve seen some scenarios, by non-Isles fans, that proposed Bailey+ for Tarasenko and this was yesterday. So, he is valued and his contract isn’t terrible at all. Unlike a lot of you, I want no part of trading Beau. I think that would be a big mistake. |

I would mostly agree with you. I'd trade Beau, but not for a 30yo injury-prone winger.
Very torn on moving Bailey. Tough to trade him 81 games before he plays 1000, all with the Isles. We'd also lose a lot of positional versatility moving on from him and are saddled with the risk of Vladdy's shoulder issues.
But outside of moving either of those two...someone would have to go...unless Barry wants to perma-roll with 13F and 5D |

I love these morons proposing Hickey and Leo in these trades. The only way StL takes any money back is with a productive player. They’re not even in a position for us to “dump” salary to. |

In all honesty, I don’t want Bailey traded at all. His brain farts drive us, well 99% of us, absolutely crazy but he plays so many roles on this team. And, I’m being a fan here, I want him to play in the new arena and if anyone deserves to lift a Cup in this uniform, it’s him. |

Figure it has to be Bailey or Beau with the edge being Beau traded. |

Yea I try not to get too sentimental with players, but man that'd be a real ice cold move by Lou to jettison him right before a) his 1000 game milestone b) the new arena and c) right when the team finally turns the corner into a top-flight organization
He's the definition of a 2nd liner and too many people expected more from a 9th overall pick. Plus he's a big time playoff performer.
Everyone thinks the grass is always greener, but sometimes it isn't. |

This sounds kinda nuts, even typing seems crazy, if he stays and we win, his Jersey might be hanging in the rafters one day. Crazy |
