Ok, no need to yell and get all defensive. Just asking a question. Jeez. - Isleshockeyman
I'm not, I was just a little confused and posting the reasoning
Goligoski won't produce as much offense as Leddy did. But also...Leddy wasn't a huge point producer and Goligoski is no slouch in that dept. He had 9 less points than Leddy last season (same amount of GP) averaging over a minute less on the PP per game than Nick.
He's definitely a better defender, too. I think he'd be an upgrade over Leddy for sure. |

The Stars are pushing hard to sign Ryan Suter to a multi-year deal. We'll see if they can get to the finish line.
Going to assume we're out on this one |

I was just asking because you usually have the answers to point production, TOI, cap space, etc. And kinda bustin' balls a little.
Seriously though, Leddy was ~40 points per season and Goly ~ 30pps. The last 3 seasons though, Goly had more points than Leddy.
I'd be fine with Goligoski as well, like you said, at the right price. Certainly don't want him at $5m per. Thinking maybe $2.5 x 2years. |

Sh!t. If that is the case, consider Landy off the market. He was wanting at least 6 years from Colorado from what I heard. |

I'd be doing cartwheels for Golly at $2.5x2
I'm fine losing a touch of offensive production for a big leap in defensive competency. Anything that makes the Isles harder to play against/score on is a win for me.
I know it's going to end up being Parise, but I'd really love to bring in someone like Nick Ritchie for the 3rd line. Him, Pageau, and Wahlstrom would speedbag other teams lower lines with a nice combo of skill, defense, and physicality |

I know $2.5 is a little low. Look at it this way though. He got that last deal when GM's were handing out bad/overpriced contracts like Halloween candy. He's 35/36 and doesn't have much playing time left. Does he want to sign with a team that has a chance to win the cup or just get the fattest contract he can. I know he wants both, but he's not getting another fat contract. His skills are less than they were, he's older and with the Isles has a shot at hoisting the cup again. So maybe $3mx2 or 3. |

I agree. I'll take better defense over Leddy. Still should be a nice 3rd line even with Parise. |

Would be a little disappointing but not too bad. As long as it's not the Isles were right there and really wanted Suter and he turned them down. |

Gotta lose some more cap space though. With the numbers that have been thrown around in here for Pelech/Beau/Sorokin/Zeeker, it doesn't leave much room for other UFA's. |

Wasn't laughing at your number, just laughing at how damn happy I'd be if we signed him for that |

My sources tell me that those numbers are high. And my sources haven’t lied to me yet. |

As I said earlier I am only concerned about signing our Ufas and RFAS if we have cap space after that then great. |

Imagine Landeskog rejects that contract 7 years 49 million. My friend told me 7 years 56 million. Be interesting to see what happens |
