According to McKenzie, Parise is a done deal. - potvin05
Would be shocked if Parise does not get done. |

Who’s James Nichols? He says Palmieri is done also. |

If we sign any even mid priced forward it’s due to us not signing cizikas or Beau unless he finds some other way of shedding salary. It’s possible but anything we’ve heard is that Lameriello’s priority is keeping as much of the team together as he can. - Cptmjl
And that's what concerns me. If we go back with the same team, it'll be minus Eberle & Leddy, plus Lee. To me, we'd be going back the same or maybe a touch worse. Now, of course we'll see what Lou pulls out of his hat today. |

I think Wally can be a factor in making the team better this year plus a full year of Palms. Isles have a chance to replace Leddy with someone who is better than Leddy defensively. |

We'll start finding out in less than 2 hours who is going to sign where. |

Would be pretty awesome if Lou could find a way to acquire Kesler so we can butt(frank) the cap like Tampa |

I like the idea of Wally with Barzal. You can always switch Wally and Palms if needed. |

So as far as point production, essentially we're replacing Ebs with Lee, Lee with Wally. The adding Palms. Or I guess you can say replacing Ebs with Palms. The if we bring in Parise, that leaves uncle Leo as the odd man out.

That leaves Leo & Panik out(or depth), right? Am I missing someone? |

Lots of doom and gloom on Isles Twitter today. Like, it's down to "the sun will rise tomorrow" posts and nothing's even gone wrong yet!
For me, Parise's the one I'm least excited about. Can't imagine he has too much gas left in the tank. Wouldn't mind him as a fall-back option, but it sounds like he's the top choice. Oh well!
I really hope they get Palmieri signed. I see him as a more-physical Eberle, and I think that'll free up even more room for Barzal with Palmieri crashing the boards on one side and Lee on the other (if Palmieri plays on that line this season!)
Defense is my biggest concern. I don't think the Isles can just go with a stopgap option there after losing so much skating ability on the back end over the past two offseasons. They need to find someone who can cover a lot of ice, either with raw speed or with great anticipation, which will help Mayfield as well as he can just do his thing without having to worry about covering too much ice himself.
I don't know...I'm more excited today than worried, though. Whatever team they throw out on the ice next season, Trotz will have them ready to play. |

I think it's silly to be doom and gloom at this point and especially with the way the last two years have gone. Parise I'm fine with on the 3rd line. It's silly but I like he is JP's son and will be playing for the Isles like his dad. Palms I really like over Eberle and I like a full season of Wally. I will miss Leddy's ability to skate out of trouble but not his overall defense.

It's a weird feeling, isn't it? Knowing that whatever team is iced on day one will be a contender and should at least make a deep playoff run. This time of year I'm just so used to throwing my hands up in the air in disgust because once again Snowtard fvcked up the draft and signed no one of value or skill. Or re-signed Capyoufvckhead to some idiotic extension.

I like the idea the Isles give up #1 for JGP and Palms but will keep both players. |

It would've been fine to sign him if Greene wasn't coming back, but he can't handle top-4 minutes |
