There is something to be said about a FA wanting to be in MTL, I'll agree there |

Paquette, Savard, Wideman won't cut it, Berg has got to make a play for Eichel.
I don't know what the sabres are looking for But i would start the package with Kotkaniemi, Drouin, Guhle, a 1st, a 2nd, throw in wtv picks are needed |

And the major part of that reason is the media. And by extension, the fans consuming all the drivel they put out. |

Are you high? Eichel will most probably have surgery for a disc replacement. No telling how he bounces back from that. Take Guhle and Drouin out, and that's all I would be willing to bargain on Eichel. |

Drouin has little to no trade value at the moment. you have to give to get.... Eichel is a top 6-7 center in the league. Of course the habs would have to look at his medical file first but i would still go for it even if he misses part of the season |

With Mulder and Kowalski, he’d be in good hands.. |

Tyler Johnson who has won a Cup the last two years was just traded along with a 2nd for the corpse contract of Brent Seabrook. Not a great argument |

I think you may be surprised by Drouin's trade value. Especially if what is coming out, that he is fully mentally healthy and raring to go is true. I have been a little bit of a downer on Drouin for not scoring more, but a healthy Drouin is a play making machine. |

he was coming off an injury last year and scored 2 goals in 40+ games, hinting that the injury was preventing him from shooting efficiently, before having to leave the team for a mental health issue. he carries a $5+ million cap hit for 2 more years.
i hope he's able to bounce back. but i promise you that not a single NHL GM would give up anything of value for him right now.

Just saying if your argument is Savard is valuable because he just won a Cup, I'll present the counter argument of Tyler Johnson |

That's cause his contract is ridiculous. They had put him on waivers and there were no takers. |

Thing is nobody wanted TJ a year ago either. Does he get the contract he has now if he were an UFA? Probably not. At least Savard will get (1st day free agency) market value |

I have to disagree. I think the skillset alone brings in an average top 6 player as a return. And again, this is assuming he is truly fully healthy. |

Not calling them the same player, just pointing out the folly in saying he just won so he's valuable by association |
