Grubauer signs with Seattle, 6 years $5.9 mil, what does Colorado do for a goaltender?
Danault signs with Mtl. 6 years $5.5 mil. for that, glad the Hawks did not sign him. - LAHawk
But would you rather have Danault at 6 yrs 5.5M or Johnson at 3 yrs 5M?

Trying to figure out what in the hell is going on with the Blackhawks and this offseason plan by Stan Bowman. I wonder if Andrew Shaw's contract will be dumped? |

Johnson as we can jettison him in half the amount of time if need be.

looks like our 7 d will be, on paper is way better then last year IMO
Mccabe Jones
Kalynuk Murph
Jones Mitchell
stillman
my guess is we retain for CDH or take a small bad contract back or sweetner.
How do you feel about that compared to last year, Boquist keith Zad out Jones Jones Mccab in. we are a little bigger and younger. |

Johnson easily. Danault has ZERO offence and 6 years is wayyyyy too much for that money.

"Jake McCabe, defenseman
The Sabres would love to have McCabe back for a ninth season. The 27-year-old blocks shots, kills penalties, provides leadership and makes his defense partner better. He has all the intangibles the team should look for in its next captain. But despite the knee injury that ended McCabe’s season on Feb. 20, he’ll likely be in high demand when unrestricted free agency opens.
McCabe is an ideal buy-low candidate for a contender in need of an effective left-shot defenseman at a reasonable cap hit. Evolving-Hockey.com projects McCabe will sign a one-year, $1.155 million contract. Calgary, Chicago, Minnesota, Philadelphia, Florida and the New York Islanders are among the teams in need of help on the left side."

Not gonna lie...the MAF trade yesterday was bizarre...but hoping he plays as he is one of my favorite goalies to watch lol always enjoy seeing him play and do well. If he does stay with the Hawks, hope he can have success and help them out.

TSN just changed Danault to the Kings, do not see this as a good signing by them. |

That would be pure irony. MAF on Colorado with a chance to eliminate Vegas in the playoffs!!! |

Everyone still thinking rebuild is the plan, it’s a reset and they’re reopening the window for the remainder of Kane and toews contracts. New core + Dach, Reichel, Cat, Jones… Big problem now though is goaltending, which the org knows you need a top tender in the playoffs. What happens with fleury… |

Have to think McCabe even overpayed by about million is upgrade over z and dehann. But where is cap space and money coming from? Last i looked hawks had about 2.4 in cap space so other moves are coming have to think. Maybe also hawks brass knows what fleury's decision is already. |

Doubt McCabe will be ready for opening night, probably be a month or 2 into the season, so he will probably start on IR.

IThat is wrong. McCabe is worth far more than 1.15M and I am pretty sure I saw an evolving hockey projection of slight over 4M on a 4 year deal. |

They aren't opening any window. They are just going to be fighting for the last PO spot at best. |

I am not sure I would call it a rebuild, but most recent actions will not hamstring them after the Toews and Kane contracts. If they suck this year we could see plenty of change at the TDL. |

Glad that's the case. Yeah, that number is lower than Stillman's cap hit so can't be accurate. |

Jujhar Khaira to the Hawks. 2 yrs 975k per - biskit67
So that explains why we trade Jokihara........ Foley and Edzo could never handle that.

But would you rather have Danault at 6 yrs 5.5M or Johnson at 3 yrs 5M? - RedRevenge Its Danault at 6yrs 5.5 and Seabrook at 3yrs 6.8M on the books. You cant compare the two in a vacuum. One is a straight up UFA signing and the other involved removing the burden of carrying a huge contract on the books for the next three years. |
