Thanks for asking, basically cleared, no more PT, but man is the calf/ankle weak. Gets sore and swollen. Lifting weights, walking 10,000 steps a day. But anyone who has had this kind of injury, and has any rehab tips, would be greatly appreciated.
- LAHawk

A buddy ripped he Achilles tight off the bone dirt biking (without proper boots). He was in his 40s at the time. He told me if were to happen now in his mid fifties he would struggle. I’ll ask him what he did to rehab it.

Well if you look at it that way Jones only cost the Hawks 1 first round pick.
- NamedSources

3 Boqvist was a 1st round pick. this year's 12 pick and a 1 st next year.

Both. Hamilton moreso IMO
- Ogilthorpe2

Hamilton is the worse big dollar sign. Doesn't play defense very well.

I bet that Kampf AT LEAST doubles his goal output with those big four forwards and M Riley!

If fleury is hesitant or won’t come to Chicago maybe Bowman can make a deal to get a first round pick for him?

Kampf couldn't score a goal if he had an open net. Defensively sound yes but offensively one of the worst shooters I've seen. Let's see if he can channel his inner Ovie in Toronto.

3 years out and started playing basketball again. Mine hates me. It was fine for a while but I also have insertional tendinosis so I'm screwed for life. At least I can still dunk at 35....but gravity is winning that battle.

The worst is when it gets sore and then your gait gets all messed up. Enter the back and knee pain due to overcompensation.

I think the worst thing is I simply can't walk 18 holes anymore. By far causes the most pain/aggravation.

Keep strength training your calves. Seated and standing (hits both major calf muscles). Stronger the calf the less strain on the Achilles. My biggest issue is that lifting calves tends to piss off my Achilles.

I find heating pad actually helps too. More blood flow to the area since the Achilles already has a limited blood supply.

My PTs were always big on icing. I didn't find that helped much but I also never had a ton of swelling.

Nothing I've seen on destinations for de Haan and haven't heard rumors on other current Hawks but never know what's behind the scenes and will soon leak.

Gus is available too.

Well Stanley has certainly been busy the last couple of weeks. Some good, logical moves and some not so good or logical. He's probably not quite done yet too.

Regardless, the Hawks will be icing a pretty different team come October. It'll be interesting to see if JC and the coaching staff can get everyone to mesh and turn all these moves into something that works.

No word on Saad. He seems to be the last big name out there. His agent wanting big numbers is the original reason we lost him. Perhaps the same, so he'll need to lower his demand.

St. Louis has been quiet and I predict they get him. Oddly, have visions of seeing him in the evil yellow of the Preds jersey too.

I think a pretty amazing last several days for Stan, and quite positive.
He's built a much better team with some smart moves.
The Fleury move is a bit weird, but I expect there's another shoe to drop here. My guess is he ends up wearing a Penguin sweater, with serious salary retention and a high pick coming back.
I dont feel Stan has put Hawks in cap hell at all. He's right up against the cap now for this year, with the Fleury thing unsettled.
But 2022/23 isnt a problem, as Fleury, DeHaan and Shaw drop off, and Maata cap $ go away, saving $16m. Against that, Jones' contract increases $4.5m, so there's $10m+ of room in 2022/23 with no real players getting a monstrous increase.

Good work, Stan. I look forward to watching my Blackhawks this coming year.

Welcome aboard if this is your first post!

I would have to agree and Ben Pope from the Sun-Times said the same thing yesterday that the Hawks will be very tight against the cap in 2021-22.

Starting next season and thereafter is when the team will need to manage the cap more but my current belief is that 2021-22 is an all-in year to go deep in the playoffs then restart the youth movement a year from now.

Who knows, though, what's going on with management's decision making and where the team is headed.

Goalies rarely get 1st round picks unless you're the Canucks.

Agree, Bowman isn't done and could be waiting on Fleury's decision as that could free up $7M to use on the market especially to get another experienced goalie and at least one other free agent non-goalie.

Understood but I was thinking a deal that may involve more than MAF. In any deal going forward I’d like to see Bowman continue collecting draft picks.

Using a pool to stretch the ligaments and joint. Using a ledge to do calf raises then when you are confident use the ledge to drop the the heels below the ledge. These were the exercises that really helped him.

They are headed for mediocrity. They will make a show of it for a bit but will fade into a top 15 pick.

This team has too many useless forwards. Plus, the defense is still iffy. Very iffy,

If you didn’t find players in the third round who can help the team I’d say none.

Bowman is trying to build a team through trades and FA signings. Take a look at CF.

Not a lot of guys on the team that were drafted and none on defense as it is shown.

Hate losing Boqvist and a first round pick, but the players that Bowman acquired are not exactly over the hill and wrecking the youth movement. Jones and Mc Cabe are 27, Khaira is 26 and Johnson is just turning 31. I feel the Hawks took a chance on Fleury for 1 year to allow the Hawks a better chance at being more competitive. Lankinen is not the answer as a true #1, but gives the Hawks a very good tandem if Fleury chooses to play in Chicago. I like the moves, plus there are spots to still be won in Chicago for the likes of Reichel, Borgstrom, Kurashev, Hardman and Entwistle. If they don’t play in Chicago right away, they would be allowed to gain valuable minutes in Rockford playing big minutes there instead of lowly minutes in Chicago.
