Well, if ever there was a season to be just good enough to not get a pick in the top half of the draft, this is it. - Ogilthorpe2
They will be in the top half of the draft.
Strome
Connelly
Khaira
Carpenter
Gaudette
Nylander
They are all still on the team. Their 4th line is going be hideously bad and I doubt JC plays them more than 6 minutes a night. |

2nd round pick in my eyes..tho, they used it on a 4th rounder. so it cancels out. - Elbows15

Hate losing Boqvist and a first round pick, but the players that Bowman acquired are not exactly over the hill and wrecking the youth movement. Jones and Mc Cabe are 27, Khaira is 26 and Johnson is just turning 31. I feel the Hawks took a chance on Fleury for 1 year to allow the Hawks a better chance at being more competitive. Lankinen is not the answer as a true #1, but gives the Hawks a very good tandem if Fleury chooses to play in Chicago. I like the moves, plus there are spots to still be won in Chicago for the likes of Reichel, Borgstrom, Kurashev, Hardman and Entwistle. If they don’t play in Chicago right away, they would be allowed to gain valuable minutes in Rockford playing big minutes there instead of lowly minutes in Chicago. - ChicagoHope
Not sure about this in such a small sample size as a rookie.
I saw Belfour get 20 or so games in before his rookie year and same with the Dominator and didn't know they'd be stars. Look at Lehner too especially his stats with Ottawa/Buffalo. |

3 Boqvist was a 1st round pick. this year's 12 pick and a 1 st next year. - Elbows15
Right...but Boqvist has been on the active roster for two years so in essence since Jones was a 1st round pick, we swapped 2021 picks and only gave up the 2022 pick....we gave up one 1st round pick |

Alright here goes, ideally what I would like to see from the forward group. Flame away, this would be a very nice forward group IMO.
DeBrincat - Dach - Kane
Kubalik - Toews - Reichel
Hagel - Johnson - Kurashev
Hardman - Khaira - Entwistle
Extras: Carpenter and Gaudette
Borgstrom starts in Rockford. Move on from Connolly, if it means, he is buried in Rockford, so be it. The 4th line would be an absolute pain in the ass to play against. Carpenter can shuffle in and out for Khaira depending who is playing better. Also, no Strome, I deal him for a pick, for 3 million at his salary, can be done IMO rather easily. If Nylander is the sweetener to move de Haan, fine by me as well. |

Bowman is trying to build a team through trades and FA signings. Take a look at CF.
Not a lot of guys on the team that were drafted and none on defense as it is shown.

You know as well as I that draft picks are crucial regardless of how the team is being constructed today. And for what it’s worth, I have yet to see a hockey team that didn’t build primarily through the draft become successful. |

Don’t bother. He knows it all. Let it be. It’s exhausting watching him spin it to his favor. Like a 1st round is now a 2nd round pick and how Boqvist is some sure lock to become a bonafide top d man.
Yet when you read ACTUAL scouts not a lot of saying/screaming he was the piece they’ll miss in the trade.
Back to more charts. Wonder if we’ll see one blasting danault deal like i saw or does that NOt fit the narrative? |

Combination of signings, European signings and draft picks.
Can we give it a few years and see if Jones plays well and what the Boqvist and these other picks pan out?
I’ll laugh my ass off of Boqvist becomes a middle to lower paired guy, Columbus 12th overall pick busts, the hawks 32nd becomes a viable asset and Jones hits his prime.
See how that plays here…..but o know….all the Jones haters will say it won’t so save the replies. |

I think he is right on the term and the amount...I disagree with what type of player Jones will be...I think he will be great and the last two years...during a pandemic were an anomaly. |

Exactly. 5 guys they drafted. 2 of which were years ago. Hagel wasn't drafted by the Hawks. Buffalo drafted him. He was a FA signing. |

No they didn’t but pull
Up the chart showing his earnings vs what he got to quiet the ones that were pining for a reunion.
Awful signing. Too much and too long for Marcus Kruger with the very poor goal finishing skills.
I get you hate Jones. You may be right but let’s give it a few years and revisit. He’s here to stay. This isn’t Brian Campbell. This isn’t Duncan Keith. I’m hopeful he’ll hit his prime and his ceiling. Hawks need it to work out. |

Ooh I got one for 'em
This chart has been run through a bunch of models from everything on games played, points, relative to first overall, etc. This one is game score value (factor of games/points/other). But no matter the model, the output chart and drop in value is the same.
A late first round pick is closer in value to a 3rd round pick than the 11th. This would be an interesting draft to revaluate later considering the complications with scouting this past year+. - L_B_R

He is already on his way out of his prime. That is what we have been trying to tell people. I hope the hell he isn't as bad as he was last year but he wasn't very good the year prior. |
