BM100, Dobber is the bible for fantasy and they have a nice easy and quick look at some fancies. Not deep deep deep fancy stats inside the fancy stats inside the fancy stats but very easy to understand and hits on most relevant fancy stats where one doesn't need a PHD to understand the numbers.
Make sure to click on Career Stats, Line Combinations and Advanced Stats tabs and you'll get a pretty solid picture of any player, again without needing a PHD to understand the stats. ....... https://frozenpool.dobber...com/players/tyler-johnson
An aside remember when the Hawks beat TB in the Finals? It was reported afterwards this kid played that series with a broken wrist. This guy is a man, plays like a man and it helps he's a legit centerman who can win a draw and will happily play any role he's given.
Same can be said about Jones. Someone posted a solid article of Torts talking about his team and mentioned guys who checked out but Jones played hard all the way to the end and that he feels Jones should be their next Captain. High praise from a no nonsense 1/2 a maniac Torterella..... Jones is another who plays the sport like a man. - Mr Ricochet
If Jones doesn’t play like a guy who’s making $9.5M and who cost the Hawks a big chunk of their future the fact he plays like a man or plays hard to the end he’s going to be the next target for Hawk fans |

If the free agent rumor about Hawks and Jake McCabe is true, he would be a welcome addition. Very good defensively and plays physical style. The only problem with him is his health. If he stays healthy ..... nice pick up ! He hails from Wisconsin so this would almost be home for him |

Thanks for the link and your thoughts on TJ, sir. I'll look into it.
Edit - One concern I have about him, is if he's so good why did he clear waivers twice last season. Cap hit and term I assume. |

Over the last three years, here are Fleury's ranks across the league in various statistical measures that aren't just standard box stats:
27th out of 37 goalies with 4000 minutes at 5-on-5 in high-danger save percentage
24th out of 37 goalies by goals saved above average per 60 minutes
15th out of 33 goalies with 3000 fenwick events at 5-on-5 in goals saved above expected
Charitably, when looking at Fleury's full body of work over the last three years, he's been about average, maybe a bit worse. That is the nature of goaltending: Fleury can be among the absolute elite in the league, or he can cost you games. In total, he works out to be about average.
For fantasy, Fleury leaves one of the best defensive environments in hockey – third-fewest shots allowed per 60 minutes at 5-on-5 the last two years – to one of the worst in Chicago. Over the last two seasons, the Blackhawks are a distant last in shots allowed per 60 minutes. Shots allowed has a direct effect on Goals Against Average, a key component of any fantasy goaltender. GAA is dictated by goals allowed per 60 minutes, and goals allowed is largely a result of shots allowed; five of the six teams who've allowed the most goals at 5-on-5 over the last two years are the five teams who've allowed the most shots. There is a big, big difference between facing 27 shots a game or 34 shots a game.
That is the problem here. If Fleury is an average goalie making 50 starts for Vegas, the team's defensive ability makes him a potential top-10 goalie in the fantasy game. If Fleury is an average goalie making 50 starts for Chicago, he's a backup in 12-team leagues. In that sense, Fleury needs to repeat close to his 2021 campaign, or Chicago needs to improve massively in one offseason. It is just a lot to ask. |

Panthers did not give Lucas Carlsson QO. Wonder if he finds his way back to Rockford? Pretty crowded on defense already but wouldn’t mind seeing him back in the fold - Assman22
He did re-sign with the Panthers. 1 year at 750K. |

Would seem to fit well opposite Kubalik on Toews line - Assman22
Assuming Kubalik isn't moved for another defender or younger player \ picks. |

Lots of rumours today. McCabe to the Hawks gives be negative flashbacks to Bryan McCabe.
Friedman is also reporting that the Hawks and Flames are working on a deal for Zadorov. |

Though the Bears are relatively exciting so there may be a reprieve to start the year unless they are absolute garbage which, no matter who they add, is not outside the realm of possibilities. |

Don't worry. Some here think it just takes a "full training camp" to get every one on board to play defense. If that doesn't happen, the excuse will be there isn't enough in-season practice time due to the compressed schedule leading up to the Olympics. I think it will take more than Jones, a resurrected Toews and Johnson to improve the overall team defense.
