If Jones doesn’t play like a guy who’s making $9.5M and who cost the Hawks a big chunk of their future the fact he plays like a man or plays hard to the end he’s going to be the next target for Hawk fans

He's a Hawk now no matter the cost to get him and sign him. I'm old but can't look away from the fancies but at the same time if one crawls into that hole without context given to the fancies, at least for me, you don't get the whole picture.

Never saw the kid take a shift off and I saw him live back to when he played for the U-17 and U-18 NTDP. ..... I am as certain as one can be about any player that Jones will play hard thru the contract and reading what Torts said about him carries a lot of weight with me. Tough kid who checks a lot of boxes, a lot, that IMO go way past the fancies, which by the way were pretty damn good not long ago.

Edit - One concern I have about him, is if he's so good why did he clear waivers twice last season. Cap hit and term I assume.

Yea, I assume Johnson making it thru waivers was due to his cap hit. That far into a season teams that matter are up against it and have little room. ...... Not like today when/where clubs have the chance to move money/players around to create space.

Bookmark the Dobber site. It's the very most helpful hockey site for me for fantasy and real life info/stats..... It'll take a little while until you are able to use all it's functions but then you'll get all relavent stats quickly and easy to understand.

I could live with a 3rd round pick from the Flames. Hopefully in next years draft. Anything more would be gravy.
