Don't worry. Some here think it just takes a "full training camp" to get every one on board to play defense. If that doesn't happen, the excuse will be there isn't enough in-season practice time due to the compressed schedule leading up to the Olympics. I think it will take more than Jones, a resurrected Toews and Johnson to improve the overall team defense.

Fluery was near a world class goalie that played in a lot of big games that had a career yr at 36 yrs old on an elite defensive team. ...... That said if he's a Hawk the team is better and that's even assuming he reverts back to his normal play.

That said lets assume Colliton and his systems suck those same systems and Colliton will be better with better players like Johnson, Jones and a pretty solid tandem of Lankanin and MAF in goal.

If you're a Hawks fan you gotta like how next yrs roster is improving. 2-3-4 yrs from now? StanBow being ordered to get fans in the seats tomorrow looks a lot like the Wings before their tear down...... And as one poster astutely posted the Hawks are putting together a fine club to win in 2018.

To be fair... All of the action is a lot of fun. This is one of the most entertaining off seasons I can remember. It could end up being more fun then the actual season.

Even if he plays in Chicago, how happy is Fleury going to be? Does it affect his play? I’d say it’s unlikely an unhappy Fleury, playing behind a weaker defensive team, is going to be anywhere near Vezina caliber.

I agree with Ogi, i think all these moves are a reaction to the law suit. There will be plenty to talk about in Chicago now with the media. The rebuild did suck but as another poster said, we are just kicking the can down the road now. Hello mediocrity.

Yes for the half of the year they were in the playoff discussion - the goaltending and the power play were both very good.
