Jaroslav Halak is indeed expected to join the #Canucks on a one-year deal.

Sounds like Halak will be on a performance bonus-based deal with a $1.5 mil AAV on the books. Structure:

$750k base sal
$750k sign bonus
$1.25m bonus at 10 GP
$250k w .905 SV% or⬆️

and that could be a possibility if players get hurt

If you look at the last 3 years cumulatively of available goalies, they would spec out in order of performance as:

Rask
Kuemper
Halak
Fleury
Mrazek
Grubauer
___ This is the line between positive GSAA and negative GSAA
Bernier

Andersen
Rittich
Holtby
Reimer
Ullmark
Jones

I have no problem with Mrazek. People talk about how much better Carolina is - but they have a pressure forecheck and swarming defense, but the net results are that they give up about the same HD chances as Toronto, fewer MD chances, and more LD chances. Toronto made changes to their defensive style to reduce rush chances against - Carolina has a solid stand up D that limits those opportunities as well.

It's up to Andersen to step up in Carolina because things aren't going to be too much better, I don't think - and it's up to Mrazek to keep up the same level of play in Toronto.

Note: Edited to include Reimer because that gives you an idea of how Mrazek compares in the Carolina system

If I want to read the negative side of it... I know who to read for that.

If I want to read the text equivalent of a drunk person vomiting on themselves ill read what Max or AA has to say.

If I want to see someone tell everyone what's right and wrong I'll find the CC post.
