Biggest issue I have is if Muzzin goes down.

I'll accept Holl is a top 4 defenseman when paired with Muzzin. But then Muzzin gets hurt and Holl goes back to being a #5 and we are euchred.

I'd prefer to spend more $$$ on the defense.

Which would improve the defense, and also ensure that the team doesn't implode when Muzzin gets hurt.

I think the law of diminishing returns applies to Matthews/Marner line. I don't see them being wildly more successful with a 3.5 million LWer rather than a cheap 1-1.5 million LW.

But I do see massive value in adding another top 4ish RHD.

Entire point is moot of course. It's pretty clear the defense is set.
