1.5 million is the going rate for a defensive centre who kills penalties. If that's what this guy is, there really isn't much to be overly angry about.

Sweeney did a nice job revamping the bottom 6. I like the additions of Foligno, Haula and Nosek and I’m glad we avoided those Sean Kuraly and Barclay Goodrow contracts. Still need to address center and goalie, but things are coming around. We’re definitely trading DeBust it appears.

Full disclosure, I don't really care. There's a lot of factors that go into deciding to signing a contract id say. I'm sure taxes matter... For some probably more than others.
