Been hitting a few pubs after not been able to for so long. For the most part, it's the only time I drink these days. Visited a Ramen place for the first time and it was (frank)ing amazing.

Finally started some training again - 15 pounds heavier than last year.

They should have taken the 2nd round pick to not pick Vanecek in the draft and taken some schlub.

I do like their FA signings though.

Yeah, I think he had 3 shutouts last season in the 10ish games he played but was not so good in a few games, too.

I expect similar next season.

I had high expectations for Mrazek in Detroit. He won a Calder Cup for Blashill. Great reflexes. Great puck handler. Lots of confidence in himself. But the league figured him out. Wait the Extra second and make him cheat to one side and score on the empty net. He's cut down some of those mistakes over the years. But that's what frustrated me so much.

He'd stand on his head and make an outstanding save only to give up the cheap one 5 minutes later. When he's on he's really on. He'll get some shutouts. Likely against Detroit. But he'll also get yanked quite a bit because when he's off he's really off. I still like him and hope he does well in Toronto.

Well what I do know is that no one would consider him elite. So, "fine" it is. If you dig that sort of goaltending.

MacKinnon has to mature a bit. He gets frustrated and tries to do it all himself. Long shifts and tries to beat 3 guys instead of passing.

Nice. Yeah, I should probably get on the exercising, too. I think I probably weigh the same or even less but that's mostly because I've lost muscle, since I've not done much of anything.

I think we’re in pretty good shape in goal. I feel more comfortable with these guys than any other tandem we’ve had recently.

Bolded- Not so sure. They haven't really made it a habit of pulling goalies the past few seasons. Even if a pull is required.

The Leafs have allocated a large amount of their cap space to a few star players. As a result, there is less cap space to spend on goaltending and depth players.
