It’s believed the Oilers offered Toronto two draft picks, including one in the first 5 rounds as compensation for a potential sign and trade. However, the Maple Leafs obviously declined.


Well that's a little annoying.

I missed that point so that's my bad. I would argue Montreal's team was very different from the leafs than one top tier goaltender.
