Goal scoring does worry me a bit but where we were abysmal is in our own end team d. Eventually that spilled over into poor goaltending. Easiest goal to score is the one you don’t give up. - Hextall271
I believe our D is better. That will help. I think if we can see guys step up (TK, Farabee) and the vets contribute as expected (G, Hayes, Coots, Atkinson) we could be okay with goal scoring. The unknowns of Frost and Allison could be key. If healthy and play full season, can they hit 20 goals? |

Jones is flat out terrible and the plan is to give him 30 or so starts. And your faceoff man is over the hill and horrible on the PK. Enjoy the kool aid - BiggE
He was less terrible than Elliot last season. |

I'd like a list of teams where both goaltenders on the roster had sub .900 save % last year. Eagerly await the teams. |

What if frost isn’t ready? You’re going to need Laughton to slot in and a 4th centre. I don’t see the problem. We’re not looking to win the cap cup here. Spend right to the limit to see if we can improve the squad. Unless we want the young players to get killed again and turn into Edmonton east. |

We already had a questionable group at forward as Giroux and JvR become one season older. Hayes and Konency both have below average seasons. Voracek was the better player going the other way for Atkinson.
I love the defense. Martin Jones I’m gonna have to wait and see. It’s like San Jose has been throwing anything at the wall in recent years, just to see what sticks. The Sharks are really bad. |

Thompson and Jones are surely the answer. I'll be proven wrong. - PLindbergh31
I don't think either were meant to move the needle. I'm not particularly happy about Jones, but Thompson is fine as fourth line depth. |

So the way I look at this is that of our young players don’t rebound/ progress we’re not winning anything anyways. Help them improve with good vet support. Tk was our top scorer and all’s star two years ago. Hart was fantastic. Provy was great when paired with a. Good vet. People say oh niskanen was no good and didn’t help but look at the difference without him. Put the kids in a spot to succeed. |

Could be worse...we could be talking about the Buffalo Sabres.
Do you think they are going to be worse than the 92 Senators? |

The forward group was easily our best position group going into the off-season and there really wasn’t much worry there |

Those Sabres beat the Flyers 6-1 when they had an 18 game losing streak, then essentially ended their playoff hopes scoring two goals in 30 seconds. |

I’m not looking. It’s just the flyers. Personally I would have traded coots hart provy ans tk for nothing and asked to revoke the franchise rather than make any moves at all. Give g the keys to the wfc and tell him to lock the door as he goes to New York to file his retirement papers.
Seriously though. Generally a good offseason. They are banking on hart returning to form. Did you want to get kuemper and give up on hart? We’ve been there with bob. Didn’t work out too well. |

7th two seasons ago and 15th last season. Goal scoring isn't the issue with this team. Preventing goals is the issue.

Great point. No room to add a scoring forward unless it's a trade. Not sure what Chuck has in mind.
Just spitballing and trying to be conservative. And all depends on how we use the forward. PP time? Thoughts?
G- >20 ✔️
Hayes- >20 guess 25-30
Farabee- >20. Guess 25-30
JVR- >20 Guess 25-30
TK- 20 ✔️
Coots- >20. Guess 25-30
Lindblom- 15. Guess 15-20
Allison- 15. Guess 10-15
Frost- 15 Guess 10

Laughton- 15. Guess 10-15
Atkinson- >20. Guess 10-15
Tanner- <10 guess 5 or less
Thompson- 1 - cdearth23 🤣🤣
Our defense will be better on backend , but who will carry some of the goals Ghost scores? Balance out with Ellis. Provy pop a few but can’t expect the other guys to really score many per season.

Bottom line is the Flyers have limited cap space and they wanted depth at forward, defense and in goal, thus what they got today on their budget was underwhelming to say the least. However the defense got better with Yandle playing 3rd pair minutes and the 2nd PP unit, and the younger players clearly will be playing a factor this year which is a good thing. |

So you wanted them to make no changes to that sad sack group? Something needed to be done to change the chemistry. |

Giroux has started to decline in scoring and will likely decline over the course of this season I believe.
Have to hope TK bounces back after two off years and JVR/Hayes can score 25-30 each |

What depth does Nate provide that someone in house cant? Why the rush to sign him?
