The comment that won the internet yesterday was that if Holtby comes here Hart will have to remove Emery from his mask as it might trigger Holtby's PTSD haha - Hextall271

This is right around the time I always see people yelling..."sign this guy, sign that guy"
People do realize this blocks young players from making the roster with the extremely limited spots there are already are. Yes, even if that young player plays lights out in preseason the UFA will have the advantage over them.
Can we just skip to the part of the season when people are screaming "Why don't we ever play any of our young guys!" |

Winning face-offs usually means puck possession, possessing the puck more than the opponent should result in less goals against, but for some odd reason it does not work out that way for the Flyers - corduroy
It typically works if your dmen are committed and on the same page...collectively, Flyers d corps last season was abysmal. Much improved heading into next season, thanks to Chuck’s moves. |

Great line. It would be funny as we know people would always bring it up. That clip gets played a lot. Poor guy.
I think we would be taking a chance on Holtby bouncing back which I would be willing to do since he is close to Hart. The situation could help both goalies.

I don’t want to add a forward, I think we have enough to fill out the roster. If they sign someone hopefully it’s strictly for the fourth line. |

Good point but I feel like we went into last year expecting (hoping) young players to step up and they did not. Sanheim and Myers did not. Frost got injured. Patty didn't do anything to cement himself as a top 3 center. Even TK under performed. Lindblom was coming off cancer. Rough year. These pieces give us a little insurance. Plus, if the young players push for spots, it gives us options at the trade deadline. At the very least, gets us some of our draft picks back:-)

He's only 31 years old, he has to have more left in the tank. He was a very good goalie for many years, I can't believe he simply forgot how to be really good. Perhaps he just needs to find the right coaching and situation. |

We have Zero toughness and size in our forward group. We added a lot of snarl to our backend, but we need at least some forwards that can wear down the other team's defense over a game. I don't think we have that currently; our biggest forwards (Hayes, JVR) are as soft as grapes. |

Do not want Holtby or Jones. They need to do betterr imo - hello it's me 2050
The issue would then be cap. Andersen isn't going to come here for 1-2 mil and he'd want to be the clear starter. |

When it comes down to crunch time, you need veteran players to lead the way. Flyers’ “young guys” will be scattered throughout the lineup this season (Farabee, Lindblom, and at times York, Allison, and Bunneman)...but I think AV and staff have acquired/are looking for guys who provide leadership and accountability. |

Allison has some size and plays aggressive. Im hoping to see him fill in some of that physical hole.

Guys like TK Coots Atkinson all play the game hard Alison as well, still have size in those guys you mentioned . We certainly do not need a fourth line plug because he hits or the corpse of Eric staal |

I would not be upset if they didn't, I also would be ok if we upgraded Nak with some size and PK but terms and dollars has to be right

Wouldn't it be better to offer PTO contracts to rev up competition? If the Flyers go out and sign veteran UFA then that doesn't create competition from young players because the advantage will always go to the UFA, they know they are starting the race a step behind. |

Flyers are perennially one of if not the best faceoff teams in the league...Glendenning would certainly solidify them in the top if he’s signed. - BroadSTmayhem
His faceoff % has been poor the past 2 seasons, and before that is was slightly better than average. Not sure about him helping here. |

I'm OK with the Yandle signing, especially at that price. He's lasted this long in the league because he's a fierce competitor which is a quality the Flyers absolutely need.
Regarding Holtby, I'd be OK with him, as well, given his relationship with Hart. He had a bad year last year, but for his career he's had a lot more ups than he's had downs. I would expect him to be a good 35 game a season guy this year.
Things are looking up in Flyerdom. So far, I'd give CF an A- for this offseason. |

Allison reads the play well and takes good routes, it allows him to get to the puck and make contact. I am hoping he picks up where he left off. |

I like his game a lot. I think he's got a spot on this team. In trg camp, I hope AV reads NAK the riot act about stupid penalties. Install an electric shock collar if you need to. He can be effective if he sorts that out. |

Chances of him staying healthy all year not good with his past history. |
