I think it would be a different player then Tkachuk coming back, but this part of the trade I agree with:
C. Zary
Valimaki
2022 1st round pick - kingcong39
If those three a part of the deal, they can give me whatever else they insist on |

Perfect. Overpay him for one year. I don't believe anyone else has a starting job available. - Slump Buster
I’m fine with Dubnyk and Anderson.

I don’t need necessarily want him back at this point. But let him have the damn surgery right before the season. Keep him away from the team. Get him healthy. After the Olympic break he comes back healthy and plays the last remaining games and shows the league he’s good to go.
It’s not ideal at all. But it is certainly better than trading the him for a crap return. - Stripes77
They don't want him anywhere near the team under any circumstances. |

Not allowed to add those conditions on trades anymore. Conditions on if a player re-signs are no longer allowed and weren’t allowed for last season. - Stripes77
Super easy to circumvent.
If hall has 1 goal for Boston in 2021 it becomes a first ir another pick is added.
Aka he resigns with them. Technically the same thing but worded different. |

Dubynk makes a lot of sense, if he's willing to play in Buffalo. - kingcong39
this is the operative phrase for every unrestricted free agent

Would the league allow that condition with a player that has no contract for next season? 🤔 |

What would be worse long term though?
A terrible return for your franchise center or Jack having a crap attitude for 15 games? |

Question: What do you think is the reason the return in an Eichel trade so far is subpar to what Adams is asking? |

Nope. There were a few trades held up by language in the trade packages before and during the draft. |

Health 100%. His value is at his lowest right now. |

I think his contract is up. He can't be asking for ridiculous money. Wouldn't the Flames want to send some significant salary back to us? |

I think Eichel has to rehabilitate his image and prove he is healthy and ready to go again before he can get traded. - Punch70

Do you attribute any of the depressed return to teams knowing the Sabres have to trade him? |

If he was willing, they wouldn't have signed Anderson. I think he said no. |

2 years at $2M per or 3 years at $2.5M per.
I was going to say Monahan, but wouldn't they want to keep him so he can finally be their 2nd line Center instead of their 1st line one? |

They don’t have to trade him though. That’s the thing. He’s not on his last year of his contract though.
Yes I get what you’re saying but this is the most important trade Adams will have to make in his career. If he screws it up get ready for another decade or more of losing. |

Or he just hasn't said yes yet. Again, where is he going to go? To be a backup making backup money? Maybe he does, I don't know.

I see so very many people saying they don't have to trade Eichel.
Teams know the divorce papers have been signed and that the Sabres have to trade him. The Sabres also know they have to trade him.
I think the reason for the sub optimal return is teams know the above.
I'd put it at 85% the above being the reason and 15% his health. |

speculative at this point (although more than likely true)...that's where jack's camp comes into play...i highly doubt they want this to go down that road but simple fact, he's under contract in buffalo for the next five seasons...
your move, jack |
