He will fit in well. Probably pop them 30 goals mostly on the PP

There’s a 2nd team in addition to Colorado with serious interest in Darcy Kuemper. #Yotes

- Stripes77

Not that we should want him at this point,
but we missed our chance at him last year

They made him sign an NDA on his way out the door, seriously.

Well that's usually a sign of leaving on good terms!

He has surgery (the Sabres have to approve)

He sits out until after the Olympic break, comes back shows he is healthy and is out the door at the draft

The only way the Sabres make this work to get the assets they're looking for.

- Stripes77

This scenario could work; especially if he lights it up for Team USA

The sabres did everything for Eichel except win. They paid him (maybe even overpaid him), made him captain, and overpaid players to come play on his line with him.

At the end of the day, winning is all that matters.

- matty12345

Owners and GMs can't win games tho, that's on players and coaches. Eichel fits into that second category, just sayin'

I predict a stalemate. We won’t get the asking price or even close on Eichel and we won’t release the medical documents everyone is asking for. Eichel will opt for surgery over playing for the Sabres. Stock plummets on Eichel
- lulags

Good thing we have eichel for 5 more years! This is why you shouldnt even worry about it.

I think the rest of the nhl was hoping GMKA was bluffing. They are finding out that he is not.

Do we even know if he actually needs the surgery?

Why would they force him to play? It would make a bad situation 10x worse.

Rangers fans on Twitter are a confusing lot. In the same breath, they will talk about how Eichel is not worth any of their best young players or prospects. If you come back with (prior to this most recent news) something like, well fine, I like these guys from MIN, ANA, etc., better, they freak out. Do they want him or not??

If that report from Vegas is true then I wouldn’t expect anything close to that.

If the Pens offered 34 year old Sidney Crosby straight up for Eichel would you do it?

Obviously would never happen but the idea would then be to flip Crosby. k

Pens would basically extend their window with an elite 1C but they'd get the lesser player short term.

I wouldn't even flinch. Crosby is Crosby. Imagine his horror if he got traded here lol.

No. Because 34 year-old Crosby would likely announce his retirement 24 hours later.
