With a nearly 40 goals pace Sam Reinhart.

He gone and no one is replacing him.

This team is going to be Eichel tank bad.

And that’s ok-
we WANT to pick in the top3 in the ‘22 draft after all

Honestly I have been pretty lazy and haven’t checked the cap friendly on this but Minny did add Goligoski, Kulikov, and Gaudreau today.

Definitely eats into their cap and they still have to resign Fiala

Russo said they dropped out, but will see they still have 20m even after the signings, but they don't want to give Rossi up.

I’m not too worried about teams that are losing Cap Space
That just means we may have to take more Cap back than we originally were thinking

GMs also don’t wanna get fired
Lots of guys under pressure out there

So we’ll see what happens
I’ll remain hopeful for a good return when an Eichel trade happens

I think Eichel has to rehabilitate his image and prove he is healthy and ready to go again before he can get traded.

That would be a horrible return imo

Strome is a 2C at best
Chytil looks like a 3C to me
Kravtsov & Schneider have upside, but they aren’t high end prospects either
And that ‘22 pick is likely to be in the middle of the round

Need at least 2 higher end pieces imo to even consider the package for Jack
Quality is important
And Quantity doesn’t necessarily equal Quality

And if that is the best kind of return they're going to get for Eichel, what then?

Keep him, get him healthy and playing, shop him next off-season before July 1st.

It's the third or fourth time he has announced that. They aren't out.

Well, it has been 2 months since Jack's initial 12 week recovery period ended.
Adams has reportedly gone through trade discussions for longer than that, with media insiders saying "serious talks" with several teams over the past week.

If he isn't traded over the next couple days, it would be safe to say the market for Adams' asking price just isn't there. So, two options left IMO;
A) reduce the price tag
B) hold onto Jack, concede on surgery, let him come back to prove his health and try again next offseason
I guess there is a C) option too, in which the stalemate continues and creates a nasty situation which only serves to devalue his trade value much further than option A...so is it really an option to consider? I don't think so no.

So, if a '22-1st is still one of the desired pieces...which team is likely going to be a Lottery team with Jack? Target them ...and lower the price

Thing with the Wild is they have huge Cap hits for their recent Buyouts coming in the next 3 years after the '21 - 22 season...like $14m-ish each year! What impact does that have when taking on an additional $10m player when they also have $15m in additional Cap coming with Fiala and KK looming now?

It is going to be very tough for them to navigate that....they might need to call Julian BrusBois in Tampa for advice.

i think they should plan on saying goodbye to kaprizov as it looks like he isn't interested in signing long-term...unless, according to this quote, they upgrade the center position:

"Back in early June, before the Joel Eriksson Ek contract extension, before the buyouts, Michael Russo of The Athletic speculated in a mailbag article that 'until Guerin shows Kaprizov a clear plan to upgrade the middle of the ice and perhaps even begins to execute the plan, I just don’t see Kaprizov wanting to commit that length of his life and career to a place where, with all due respect, he has no allegiances, no ties.'"

a jack echl/eriksson-ek duo up top is a very strong one-two punch down the middle

Sure, but why were they in on him in the first place? It sounds like they were seriously considering doing it on draft day. All of these teams have motivation not to do it but they all are trying.

Honest question. Are Anderson and Dell really the tandem the Sabres are going with?

I mean a 40 year old and a guy who is an AHL goalie at best?

Taxi squad?

I mean I get there was slim pickings out there but this can’t be it can it?

People’s anger with the Sabres this off-season is comical to me. We all knew this was coming, we all knew it had to be done and we had to move on from Reinhart, Risto, and Eichel. Adams, this off-season for me, has done mostly everything right, the reinhart trade was a little disappointing but he’s an RFA, so I didn’t expect a ton. People need to stop wallowing in the past and support the new core of young kids that don’t need to deal with fans anger at the owners. I’m hopeful for the next couple of seasons and I believe the Sabres will gain the respect of the league soon enough.

No, Dell has a two way contract. They will get a starting goalie
