Damn man, not even August yet. Growing up as a young kid I spent every summer in Peachland, Can remember a couple of fires but poor it quality was never a problem.

I have friends in Kamloops considering moving back to AB as they are finding the summers tough to handle.

Stay safe.

Thanks. Peachland, at Todds trailer park?

K, I'm getting tired of the facking smoke here in K Town. It's been 4 straight days of smothering air, last night the truck was covered in ash. This morning headed up in the mountains towards Big White to try and get above it. It was marginally better but still smokey, where the hell is that southerly wind that was supposed to clear the skies? Gotta get somewhere for clearer air, heading to Vancouver for a few days. Anybody need anything?

Yeah, to get rid of the haze here in Cowtown... been staring down a red sun for 3 damn weeks!!

Here are the current line combinations on dailyfaceoff. Lots of cash in the middle, but still not strong enough, especially on the third line.
Gaudreau-Lindholm-Tkachuk
Mangiapane-Backlund-Coleman
Dubé-Monahan-Pitlick
Lucic-Lewis-Ritchie

Hanifin-Tanev
Zadorov-Andersson
Valimaki-Kylington

Markstrom

I believe there is only one move left and it's not Eichel. I still think Monahan to Senators (let's hope they're not on his no-trade list), in return we get: Colin White, Jacob Bernard-Docker + prospect. But there are other possibilities if we move Dubé, who is a natural centre, to 3C.

I'd be willing to see if Monahan can rebound. He was injured all season needing hip surgery.
The guy still has more goals than anyone else from his draft year. We dismiss him cause he's under performed lately and especially in the playoffs but he's still a legit player

No wouldnt be interested in that package. I heard Sens are perhaps dangling Brannstrom to get that top 6 C. I would suggest him & a 2nd.

I'd rather keep Monahan than send him for a bunch of players and prospects. You usually don't win those trades. If it's not for Eichel then let's see how he plays to start the season. There's been a lot of negative stuff written about him lately, I bet we get a very motivated player back to prove himself.

I'm fine with this trade too. Many possibilities with the Senators.

Id love Colin White on the team. His cousin is a beer league teammate of mine and I had a couple of beers with him. Solid dude. Puts up pretty good numbers considering the talent with which he plays, RHS, fast.

Not sure you could pry White and JBD from them for just Monahan, though.

I think we've reached the point that we need a more complete centre. We are solid on the left wing.

Maybe Monahan + a mid tier prospect (Poirier or Kylington) might work.

I still think Monahan has quite a bit of value but White and JBD might be a little too rich. It’d likely be a good starting point, though.

Good idea, I like it. And Senators are open for business.

I’m not sure Monahan would be someone they’re looking for since he’s a middle aged 2C and they’re still trying to finish rebuilding but he’s a great goal scorer, aside from last season, and he played his junior hockey there.

Yeah. What I read is that the Rangers could be close to a deal for Eichel by adding Kakko and asking the Sabres to retain part of Eichel's salary. It would allow the Rangers to extend Zibanejad. Senators are potentially interested in Ryan Strome who is a little older than Monahan. The thing with Monahan is probably besides being very slow he is often injured.

Yes! My Grandpa started going there in the 70's and befriended four other family's. They all became good friends and all had kids. I used to know almost everyone there over August long. Used to have a fishing derby that was just a crazy party. Those days were probably the greatest any civilization ever saw.

Well it's still there, one of the few gems left. Time to revisit the Park.

Monahan may not be the fastest player out there but I don't think you call him slow.
Although he has played through injury, I'm not sure you can call him often injured either.

Coleman a way better player than Hoffman now. Is it a friggin asylum here or what.
- redseerpf

Reality...did you not watch hockey the last two years? the playoffs?

Coleman was one of Tampa's best 5 on 5 players...he didn't get PP time (no poop) I guarantee Coleman had more offers than Hoffman who wears out his welcome quickly everywhere he goes.

Don't get me started on Neal they couldn't be more different

Yeah no.

Supposedly they are still in on Eichel....but who knows.

Would have liked them to go after Murrey.

If they feel like Gaudreau is going to resign, the Flames should be offering something like Monahan, Valimaki, and 2 or 3 firsts. Probably gets it done.

If Gaudreau isn't resigning, it doesn't make a ton of sense to bring Eichel in.

Price wouldnt be that high. Based on what they wanted from Vegas Monahan, Dube, Valamki & a 1st would probably get deal done. Question is, is Buffalo on his 10 team NT list. If so we may need a 3rd team to help with the deal.

Dube, Zary, and Pelletier are all more valuable to the Flames than their '23 or' 24 first round pick.
