Yep seems like it:

Thanks for posting this link. This article is very interesting to read. I guess we wait and see what happens but I feel like Flames are right in there for Eichel. Even Sutter had said when he was hired that Flames need a true number 1 center. Let's see.

Dube, Zary, and Pelletier are all more valuable to the Flames than their '23 or' 24 first round pick.

Unless your 2023 pick ends up being Bedard then it would go down in history as one of the dumbest trades of all time! I am totally down with us pursuing JE but to give up three firsts with Wright and Bedard coming down the pipe would be extremely ballsey.

If they couldn't make the playoffs with Eichel, Gaudreau, Lindholm, Markstrom, Mangiapane, Hanifin, Tanev, Andersson, Zadarov, and probably Tkachuk, they should probably just fold the team.

Either go for it or rebuild. Trying to do both had kept them mediocre for 30 years.

Price wouldnt be that high. Based on what they wanted from Vegas Monahan, Dube, Valamki & a 1st would probably get deal done. Question is, is Buffalo on his 10 team NT list. If so we may need a 3rd team to help with the deal.

If they feel like Gaudreau is going to resign, the Flames should be offering something like Monahan, Valimaki, and 2 or 3 firsts. Probably gets it done.

If Gaudreau isn't resigning, it doesn't make a ton of sense to bring Eichel in.

Monahan Valimaki and 3 firsts? Thank god you aren't the GM!

Maybe you don't know who Eichel is. Adding Eichel to their current roster makes them legit contenders for at least 3 years.

If they don't make any changes, they're a middle of the pack team and maybe one of those picks hits. Keeps them in their perpetual cycle of mediocrity.

They haven't drafted a player in the first round anyone near as talented as Eichel in, well, forever.

High price but I could live with that offer. Valamaki seems to be plateauing at a 2nd pairing D, not 1st pairing as we all had hoped for. Dube is going into a big year, he needs to step up & establish himself on the top 6. If he cant, he's a 3rd liner. Both are young, NHL ready that fit in a Buffalo rebuild quite nicely. Monahan has to be the one that goes to not only balance the salary a tad but Buffalo could flip for other assets if they wanted. Really, if we got Eichel, Monahan doesnt fit, he really isnt fitting now but with Eichel, the top 2 C are Eichel & Lindholm, then Backlund on the 3rd line. With Eichel I can almost guarantee you we wont be a lottery pick next year, so giving up that 2022 1st isnt no big deal regardless what top end talent is available next year. If Buffalo doesnt want to accept that package, well then fck em is my attitude.
