Yeah, I’m just saying the bonus targets are so achievable that as fans who are saying “great signing at $1.5” they should be aware that it is actually $3. And as I said, $3 is still a good number for what he will likely provide. Next season, they basically swap the Luongo recapture for Holtby/Halak/Jake bonus/buyout costs, and potentially another $2ish million in ELC bonus money (as a maximum)
- 1970vintage

I think we go into the season with space to cover a good chunk of the bonuses.

I think the Canucks will be right at the cap maximum, in order to utilize the LTIR space.

that makes the most sense. they'll be creative but will be at the edge to get the max relief.

For sure. It’s $2.75MM or $3MM. Beats Holtby $4.3MM as he should be a much better goaltender

They will track it pretty good this season, like they did last season, in case they add a player at TDL, for the playoff run.👍

We currently have 19m in space with Ferland on LTIR. 4 players to sign. I could see them being 19m only if EP and QH go long term instead of Bridge.

What can I say, I was impressed with the maneuvers this off-season and look forward to seeing my team play again.
I have gone from apathy to elation.

Go Canucks Go.

Just an FYI, but Ferland on LTIR doesn’t add any space unless you are right to the cap (with Ferland on the roster).

They need to keep some space open in case of injuries, so they might want to leave about 1 million off the cap max. I can't remember exactly who that works, but watching what they did last year, I can say they have a pretty good capologist.
I wonder if it is Icap-Imac.

Bennington said he was going to be aggressive and we all thought oh sh!t here we go and then he gets D!ckinson and we were all like hmm 3rd line center ok then the trade with Garland and some were very negative some were positive and I was like finally I don’t have to see Louie Eriksons face. Then the rumours of the free agents being targeted started to come in and he signed a bunch of right side d and a goalie and some depth for the baby Canucks and all of us pom poms are excited and even some of the whiners are like “you son of female dog I’m in!!”

I have not been this eager for a season to start since Petey arrived I hope it’s a fun one and only time will tell!

I think after our 4 RFAs are signed we go and get a 4rw to make either Zack or highmore our 13th. I could also see us getting a new 8th dman. I doubt they make OJ our 7th. Rathbone makes Abby dangerous and he will still improve there.

In the off season we trade Miller and OJ. Miller because Podk will win a top 6 spot and replaces him, easy enough to get a 3rw to replace Podk there. OJ because Rathbone will earn a spot by seasons end.

I was fully expecting the Canucks to load up on Swedes and sign Landeskog, because of the Sedin influence

I might try do a roadtrip this season and try catch an Abbotsford and Vancouver game.
Will have to wait and see the schedule and plan around that.
