I'm pro-Simone on the Olympics thing. I'm with Ogi and Dots that the Summer Olympics are pretty boring to me. Much more so than earlier in my life. I think it's because the whole amateur thing is out. - mohel

Or maybe just maybe we finally get Malkin, hahaha - BetweenTheDots
Ha! I wondered about that
I sure hope Stan doesn't retain any salary if he does try to make a deal work with PIT. |

Best case scenario. Either flip him, or let him go bye-bye. |

Do the Penguins even have a first? They always trade them away. Penguins fans seem to think they're getting him for nothing with the Hawks retaining salary because it's either that or he retires or by their logic Chicago has to buy him out. - GPHawksfan
Yes they have 1st in 2022and 2023 so bowman ask for one or the other which ever draft is deeper. Personally I would ask for 2023 just because still don't for certain NCAA Canadian hockey leagues will be up and running at full capacity and scouting will be allowed in person. |

I’d almost rather call his bluff and make him retire than trade him to Pitt regardless of the potential return.
Almost. |

I would ask for both since we have to retain half his salary. But then again it seems like Bowman only does tough negotiating with Strome

Big deal for Zach Werenski: He signs a six-year extension with #CBJ carrying a $9.583M AAV. |

Agree but if jarry nets the hawks a 1st then take then try and trade jarry for something. Or let flurry retire and give up is 6 million either way hawks should come out on top although its bowman so anything can happen. |

Couldn't and won't say you can bet they won't trade a first round. But they are determined to build with youth.while admitting that Malkin, Letang and Crosby trio will not hang around much longer
Well Crosby will. Malkin and especially Letang would be gone yesterday if they got half descent offer. The Penguins need new stars to go with Crosby and Guentzel. The forward got from Toronto is good, but their glory years may be done. Good team, some other nice players but they need new young players and it is spelled in draft choices. Maybe at trade deadline they would offer a #2
.
That is how I view their situation. They will see if the can get in playoffs again and ride Fleury - maybe - but not giving up a #1 no matter what..I think next year draft is supposed to be a deep quality draft. |

Reaves got traded to the Rangers. I’m sure Tom Wilson isn’t happy to hear that |

If he retires we can use the cap. I guess I'm fine with that.
