My buddy plays hockey with Saad's cousin and he told my buddy that he didn't want to come here and be the hometown boy and have family and friends bothering him for tickets to games an what not. Wanted to stay away. - 668710
Thank you, hockeyyinsiderr lol
Heinen is a decent pick up for us. Is Bobby Ryan available? I’d look for him or Tatar at this point. |

There are still players who could be a solid pick up available. Staal, Richie, Tatar, and Ryan. Are still players who are available - 123Kid
I'd be trying to snag Tatar and Ryan. |

So..... he's soff as butter. Dude is a mega millionaire. If it were me, I'd buy a box for my friends and family. |

I actually think this is a great signing for what it is. Id have Heinen over Freddy G and Erod no questions asked. - pens4life-66
Yeah it looks like we’ve basically stood pat besides losing McCann. McGinn replaces Tanev. Maybe trades some chaoticism for defensive acumen. Heinen is a better (or at least more consistently proven) version of Gaudrau. E-Rod stays to be the 13th forward that Sullivan likes.
So we’re at last year but with a second top 9 hole instead of just one. |

I was being serious, my buddy does actually play with Saad's cousin. That's what was relayed to me. |

I’m sure he does for his actual good friends. I totally get not wanting “buddies” and “cousins” hounding you for poop on a daily basis. |

Probably the constant nagging from even distant friends/family that he doesn't even talk to anymore. I'm sure that wasn't the ONLY reason but was one of them. I get it, I have people in my family that I want nothing to do with. |

I know I know haha never doubted you. Too bad for him. I’d love to play for the team I grew up cheering for.
Make the Bobby Ryan signing happen. Boom 💥 We suddenly will have a team. |

I don't mind the Heinen signing. Solid 4th line player who can play on the 3rd in a pinch. |
|
|
|
Trade for Fleury at full cap hit, LTIR Malkin to make the cap room until playoff time. Damn the torpedos |

I mean, yeah, I get there will be a few drawbacks, but it's pretty damn easy to avoid people you don't want to deal with. The ability for my parents/immediate family and close friends to see me play on a regular basis would far outweigh that.
To each his own I guess. |

Career 82 game average wise
McGinn ~= Tanev
Heinen ~= McCann |

Feds, why Bobby hasn’t signed with Detroit yet? I thought he wanted to stay. Can he play 2nd line 3rd string at this point? |

Its pretty much what 98% of the blogs and comments beg for all year. "You need good 4th line players without paying them over 2 mill" Hes had 47 and 35 point seasons and is 26 years old. Id expect hes closer to 30 point seasons which seems great for 1 mill. |

So what you are saying is people should not assume the reason a team didn't sign a player is because they didn't want to or just not go after him? That there maybe other reasons that we as fans have no clue about in a situation?
That's is a good way to go! |

Yeah, I'm not mad at it.
I'm curious what it would take to get Gusev. If he can be had around the $1M mark I think he'd be a good add.

Not suggesting it applies since maybe it wasn't his age but Carter Hart wasn't brought up quickly so I'm betting Hextall leans more on the "needs more development" side of goalie prospect philosophy. |

I think the Pens still need a center. I think affordable players they may be able to get on one year deals would be the following:
Bozak
Stepan
Anisimov
Soderberg
Staal
Not all of those are sexy names, but to have Blue stepping up into the 3rd line role, I think any of those guys could be a good stop-gap on the fourth line. I'd even inquire about Krejci. |

We lost Tanev at 3.5 million and added Heinen and McGinn for a combined 3.85 million next season. Hopefully we grab another player or 2. Gudbranson is still a FA he could be a good 3rd RHD option for us. |

I think it’s pretty accepted that we went after Saad. |
