Stupid dodgers.

I had heard on the radio he really wanted to be on the west coast.

I'm not up on MLB players. Was the price too steep? Like could the jays have done it easily?

Speaking of the stooped Dodgers, I have Trevor Bauer on my fantasy team, it's a keeper league.. Not sure if I should hold onto him or drop him

They had the ability to whiffed that year, they no longer can 4 years later. Dubas has to pull the trigger no longer let assets walk for nothing.

they can't keep swinging and missing... If Rielly walks as a UFA then it is poor asset management

I heard the price included Nate Pearson which was a non-starter. Trading your best pitching prospect for a TDL starter that will not re-sign makes no sense for a team that is not even in a wild card spot. Jays need relievers way more than starters, bullpen has been brutal.

Most things I read said to trade him due to injuries.

This.
Same at my kids school....seem to be much more Raps fans than leafs.
This could change if the leafs do something relevant one year....but basketball is relatively cheap to play and you can play it anywhere.
Heck, street hockey is banned in some towns or areas of cities.
times are a changing

Raptors also have a recent championship and with Drake have the young crowd. I definitely think the raptors are the number 1 show in town.

About Pearson?

Even if true, based on where the Jays are in the standings, I wouldn't trade a 24 yr old prospect that has as much potential as Pearson does for a 37 yr old Max Scherzer soon to be free agent.

I also heard Scherzer only wanted to go somewhere if they would give him a contract. I expect the dodgers will.

I think the Jay's are playing beneath themselves this year and it's sad to see some of the young talent wasted.

The Jays blew about 6 wins away thanks to their sh!tty bullpen.
they'd have a wildcard spot had it not been for them

Hell no.
Its going to be difficult for the jays to jump over teams to get a wild card spot.

Hockey can't not have any of Mcdavid, Matthews, Kane, Crosby, Ovi, ect in the final 4...its bad for hockey.

Plus Toronto the city needs a run oh so desperately. The City would go nuts every other night for months.

I do think if the leafs DID go on that run they would take the top spot back but right now the most fun we've had in playoffs are the raptors and jays.

Further, @jprutherford says “Beauvillier has been mentioned as a possible candidate to be dealt by the Islanders in some trade conversations, including a Tarasenko deal.” #isles

I think it needs to be several runs in consecutive years with one of them at least going to the finals if they want top spot back for a while.

Unless the raps really fall off in the next year or so.

I know he was put on leave and it was extended until August 6th, I mean they could just suspend him for this season.

The way the league is setup, I need to use a roster spot on him..

Mines an easy choice as keeping him will come with a dollar value, so the number will determine where I fall on that.

Total coin toss in my opinion. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Why would the other team want robertson and rielly (for 1 year) for Tkachuk?
- Aaron_85

Tkachuk has one year left too. I know he's an RFA but that doesn't seem to matter any more when it comes to signing new deals for good players.

Calgary lost Gio....and Brodie a few years ago. They could use a good Dman.

I don't know what a hockey deal would look like but the main pieces of Rielly and Tkachuk are pretty close.

Calgary is a great trading partner since they're in the west too.

Rielly is from BC, close to home for him.

Tkachuk and Matthews are real friends outside of hockey. They came up in the US program together.

It's definitely some wishful thinking on my part but It doesn't NOT make sense.
