My grandmother, with her frugal and practical Scottish heritage, got me a Blackhawks toque (with the iconic logo patch on the front) when I was 5-years-old because it was cheaper than the Habs one.

I wore it, mostly because it came from her as a present

Kinda grew to love it, even if I was sorta mocked for it (was my own version of the Sweater).

I still have it in a box of memories, but it no longer fits my grown-up head.

lol.

Funny story ... similar to mine.

Reminds me when I was around 7 (in the '60s), my parents gave my brother and I some hockey equipment for Christmas.

One set had a Habs jersey ... while the other had the *gulp* Leafs.
I ended up with the Leafs because according to my mother I was the oldest and could understand and was more mature.

Yeah sure Mom ... I've been in therapy ever since.

Come on Karine ... if you don't go with a Stan Mikita jersey then you're not worthy.

Lol god i loved that movie...

“Engagement! Voiture! Engagement!”

And i always preferred getting jerseys of players I saw play.

Right in the middle of University when that first movie came out... needless to say, it was quoted everywhere and every house party had Bohemian Rhapsody moment (or 5) of the evening.

(frank) I am old.

Yeah, I had a friend who worked in a video store, while I worked my ass off loading trucks in a warehouse.

Not bitter at all... even after all these years.

Lol, you missed out...arguing over which movie had the best soundtrack and should be put on, making popcorn and taking the leftovers home, getting to watch all the movies for free...

But nothing beats working with customers... yeah have you got the movie with the black guy in it? Euh which one sir? Well you know, Denzel Smith! Riiiight.... or checking the security camera and seeing than a severely underaged kid has snuck into the adult section and is going to town on himself and playing Rock Paper Scissors to decide who goes in there to kick him out... Those were the days lol
