Is Zib, with his age & injury concerns, worth 8x $10M? - VeryModernMan
He wont get 10m. I think that was a number that he casually threw around. I think he gets under 9m. |

Whether we get Eichel or not I dont think Zib is getting more than 8 million for those exact reasons plus a flat cap and hometown discount to build a championship team
Basically like Landeskog just did for the Avs |

Yes because as mentioned elsewhere here, if he gets hurt it's LTIR and that's it. We don't lose assets like if we trade for Eichel |

If that's true the pegulas are dumber than than they look - MeltingPlastic
They are very dumb they just asked for 100% public funding on 1.5 billion to build a new football stadium and basically said if you don’t do it plenty of other cities will.
In that ask is 400 million to rebuild the hockey arena.

If we got Eichel and there were some bridge deals and hometown discounts included we’re basically the equivalent of Goodrows contract over the Cap…

Shesty is getting somewhere close to 5.5m so thats off.
It wont matter though. You clear that by the skin of your teeth, then have to resign LAF, Miller and Barron the following year. Then youre fked again. |

At 50% retained, for a healthy Eichel, you have to make that deal. We have high hopes for Kakko, but so far Kakko is still learning and adjusting. However we know what Eichel is capable of. It allows us to keep Zibanejad for the 1-2 punch. The downside is we go from a position of strength on the right side to a position of weakness. - aecliptic

My point is its doable. No worse than Tampa, Vegas, Toronto and the other ceiling teams. And I’m pretty sure Kreider and Trouba are gone in 2024 when their NMCs become partial NTCs. Just gotta bridge deal guys until then |

Its doable for 1 year, Kreider and Trouba will still have a NMC, and youll need to resign LAF, Miller and Barron. What do you do? |

I think the silence is reflective of how Drury is running the show. He plays things close to the vest. |
