Hey man, I'll be the first to say we often disagree. And we often go for the jugular. But, at the end of the day we are supporters of the same team and it's just a pleasant distraction from life's stresses.

I think Drury is just trying to piss me off. He is upgrading everywhere but at the center position. Please get me a new center Drury, please |

It's not a bad trade at all. The salary only affects this season where we have tons of cap space. Reaves will play against the bigger teams that need to be matched up better against (Isles, Caps, Bruins, Carolina Rangers).
Getting a third rounder back before next draft should not be a serious mountain to climb.
People keep mentioning this Dryden Hunt kid. I never heard of him until we signed him (or did we trade for him). What's his story? - mames11
he's 25 so not much of a kid - had a big overage year in the WHL, and some decent AHL numbers but i dont think there's much more there. seems to be a very solid depth signing

One thing no one can say is that we are the same, one-dimensional team we were 4 months ago!! And as others have stated this morning, we still have all of our top prospects and 7 draft picks next year. |

I think that it is worth noting that the Rangers have had 42 draft picks in the last 5 years. They have been flush with picks and have put dozens of guys into the system.
Am I thrilled with giving up a third? No. But also think that if he can help the team this year, playing in the select few games we may need him and being a good locker room guy, I’m fine with it. The Rangers prospect pool is strong and if this makes them a more difficult team to play against, I have no major issue with it.
And Jan, it’s been a long time! Hope you and the family are doing well. - Pete V
Now that's some great data Pete. Lot of picks the last 5 years. Seems like we have so many D and W prospects. Even goalie for that matter. Just need some damn C in the system. |

Completely agree. When the Isles shut our top skilled guys down we turned into a piss-poor figure skating team and could not do anything against them.
With the subtraction of Buch ( ) Rangers are still one of the most skilled teams in the league. |

I think part of the issue is how do we improve the bottom 6 without affecting the top 6? If the bottom 6 is not the place for a guy like Kravtsov, then he either has to be traded or moved to the top 6. It doesn't look like they are looking to trade him, so to move him to the top 6 either Kakko or Buch would have had to either be traded or moved to the bottom 6. Kakko is definitely not a 3rd liner and you can't pay Buch close to $6M to play on the third line, when we already have Kreider penciled into the 3rd line for $6.5M.
You can argue the return for Buch was underwhelming but looking at the number of wingers that weren't qualified by their teams and the value the wingers that were traded brought back it looks like they received at least close to market value. Would I have liked more? Sure but the market clearly wasn't there. Holding off on trading him means that we don't shake up the forwards to begin the year and stay relatively status quo which I don't think would have went over well here either. - SkjeiStadium
The jury is still out on Krav and KK imo. We still have a bunch of kids who cant drink yet. I think a little more patience is needed. |

I love the Trade for Reaves! 3rd schmerd.
Will miss Jimbro- a voice of reason mostly.
@Brukie- what do you think of Panarin as a player? One of the NHL best? Does he make others better? Good team mate? A wussy? Leader? Just your thoughts without considering value to the Rangers - Greschnergy#4
Well it figures you love the Reaves trade, you live in the past thinking this is 70s hockey, which it isnt.
Yes Panarin is a good player, yes he does elevate the players around him. A good teammate? I would think so. A wussy? I dont think so. A leader? That I cant answer, I dont know the guy.
Your point is? |

This place is like crack for real hockey fans that know what they’re talking about (for the most part)
It’s seriously tough to find anywhere else where you can have an intellectual hockey conversation with people that know about prospects, salary cap, etc |

Not so sure I agree with your “rightfully admonished” - Can you really ‘wish’ someone ALS? Seems ridiculous. I’m not so sure he owes anybody any apologies |

I agree with that, but since you believe the Rangers need to be in win now mode, do you think they should trade those two for more established players? I think it's tough to be patient with 3 of your top 6 forwards (including Laf with the other 2) but still be in win-now mode. I think that was the purpose of moving Buch. Force these 3 guys to either grow up and become the NHL stars they can be or prove that they won't be that and we can move on from them before Panarin's contract is up. You can't keep Buch, accelerate the kids growth and improve the bottom 6. You can only do 2 of the 3 and Drury chose the later 2. |

either there is a line or there isn't. if the moderator of this board feels you crossed it then sack up and apologize, or at the absolute minimum don't be a child about it. my 2 cents |
