Dinky's brother looks just like him. - Elbows15
Agreed, but if you’re talking about the pics from wedding that were made public, that’s Hagel. |

Strome de Haan and Connolly traded for three #3's. Blackhawk now have every #3 next year. - rpeters01
Stan is on a mission to own the 3rd round.
All 3 should go. Strome and de Haan are movable as long as Stan doesn’t feel he has to win those deals. Connolly could be moved with a sweetener, I don’t think it has to be on the Teravainen-level of sweetener either. |

Most of them looked hammered. - Rota's Rooter
Except Kane - quite the turn from pics in the 2010s
Maybe MAF saw the pics and decided it looked like a fun bunch of guys.

I don’t know, I think that they can get a third for Strome, but yes, he does not really add anything to this team, the $3M in cap space would be nice. - Angotti
How many 3rd rounders does a team need? My guess? Strome will be packaged with Mitchell/Beaudin to get maybe a 2nd. |

That'll be a really nice tandem, MAF and Lanky
2 actual NHL dmen, captain and Dach coming back
Very interesting year unfolding - BetweenTheDots
Agreed. I think the Jackets will be selecting the 15th overall pick at next year’s draft. |

Wouldnt it be smart to put Connelly & Tyler Johnson on waivers before Day 1 to help maximize cap with Shaw’s LTIR with the 1% chance somebody picks them up? - zm333
To maximize Shaw's LTIR all they need to do is sign Hagel and Nylander. That should get them close to the roughly ~3.2M available to them. |

True but it was more noteworthy, to me, , that Toews's face looked normal. |

Really? Then he and Dinky could pass for brothers. |

Toews does look good in the photo. Hopefully it's a good sign that he's feeling more like himself. |

Will adding good NHL players especially on the blue line, i hope they are good maybe even great, and MAF amount to 10 to 15 more wins this year? Possibly and you have our opponents in the division losing players? Trending up for sure |

I'm thinking deHaan and one of our 3rd round picks as a sweetner going bye bye |

poop I just looked at the picture again and it is Hagel. They definitely look like they are related. Toews with the drink in his hand is a positive! |

That is like a minimum 40% gain in wins over last season. I don't see it. |

de Haan will be here. Or else they have to replace with another garbage FA out there. The list isn't pretty. Ryan Murray looks to be the best option on that list. Problem with him is he is made of glass. |

Well if they win 5 more games during the season that will put them in the playoff race.
Especially if those games are against the division |

Anything is possible, I guess. A poopload of IFs have to come through for it to happen.
Seems like the kinda odds Evander Kane would like. |

de Haan will be here. Connelly is unmoveable. Strome should just be given away. His cap hit is more valuable than anything he would return. - Elbows15
I think all 3 are the same animal not easily moved. I would think deHaan would be the easiest with something retained teams always need defense. |

Delia and Subban will be next to go now that we have our goalie.
Strome, deHaan and Shaw to Toronto for Nylander. |

Pat, this is a really helpful post and hits correctly on so many things but for clarity sake I highlighted just a couple I find will be really beneficial for the club....
The 3 new Dmen along with the bottom 6 possibilities gives a fan some realistic hope for next yr. Lotta ifs, enough holes and with Colliton in a position where he's asked to win for the first time, and Toews of course, lotta questions for sure. ...... If nothing else it shapes up as interesting, players are more realistically slotted and kids that belong in Rockford will be allowed that "luxury".
Really good and coherent post, Pat. - Mr Ricochet
Really loved Theo's blog here and Pat's comments were so value-add and insightful, as well as Mr. R's response here. Really had to pause and say thanks for all 3 of you for the time spent thinking through this and sharing, really makes for fun reading. You've created a problem for me now though... after reading your stuff, I want to turn on a live hawk game tonight, but alas, there is none on the horizon!
