They weren’t running buch kappo and Kravs in the top 9. They don’t all fit. Buch was the odd man out after Kreider got his extension. The return was bad, the idea to trade him was not. I would’ve moved him at the deadline this year - nyrangers2
Wow, I guess the Rangers are going to be really good this year and the prohibitive favorites to win the Cup. When a player rapidly moving towards being a 30 goal point a game player doesn't fit. They must really have something special going on.

Reeves wasn’t holding back Vegas from being a contender these passed three seasons. Neither has Wilson for the caps. In fact Wilson and Reeves faced each other three years ago in the Stanley Cup Final. I would love to pick up at least one guy who plays this style. I’ve always liked Zach Kassian.
In my opinion our mix of forwards isn’t a good one. |

If they pay him $5.8m how do they resign Mika, fox, while adding to the bottom 6. Buch is a good player but they expect Kravs and Kakko to eventually make up his production. They will be a better team this year than the last 3 |

When he runs Provy through the end boards it won’t look so stupid…he plays a heavy, heavy game….6-7 minutes a night. No one will run their star players or they’ll answer. Wilson would not of ragdolled their best player had he been in the lineup.
- landros 2
That is IF he is even in the lineup. If Reaves is out there during a Provorov shift I would posit that we are playing in their zone.

A lot of smallish/soft players who go through prolonged scoring droughts. I agree with you it isn't a good mix. |

Well the first place I would start is not paying Ryan Reaves 1.75M. Although Goodrow is a good player, Buchnevich is better. Of course if they didn't make the deal, they also wouldn't have Blais. That 6.8M right there

Poor Rangers are caught in the bias for action trap too.

Sorry, there's a hard limit on how many former Sabres boneheads you're allowed to trade for in one summer.

Remember when Holmgren signed Shelley to a 3 year contract because he scored a goal against the Flyers? Good times. |

I'm pretty sure he had a 2 goal game against the flyers too. Can't remember if that was before or after though. |

If the Rangers or any other team changes their lineup just to play a player against Tom Wilson then the Caps have already won that situation. - MJL
cmon that kind of thing happens all the time. |

TBH, I don't give a frank about the Rags or the Caps. But, I will say that I wouldn't shed a tear if Revo broke Wilson's orbital or jaw bones. Just MHO. |

It was before, and I think that was the catalyst of the signing.

Well w/ Tinordi and Reaves on board, Wilson is guaranteed to be on his best behavior now...

If Reeves is that much of an issue they can always slot Morin into the lineup for a game. I thought he was supposed to be our deterrent for those guys.
Have to agree with MJL on this one and on the Buchnevich trade. |

We should just trade Morin to the Rags for a 3rd while they're still busy hoarding guys who can't play.

"it's a hard thing to do, but we saw it here last year too. Our goaltending numbers weren't very good. Our team defense wasn't very good. Really, it started up the ice. It was a full team effort,"
-Check Fletcher
As I posted yesterday, the number 1 factor in a goalie's stats is the team defense in front of them. If any goalie is under siege game after game they will eventually crumble as we saw last year on the Flyers. I am very confident the overall team defense will be better because our forward group will be better and our defenseman will be much better, especially in slot coverage and winning more puck battles below the red line. As a result I expect there to be far fewer high danger shots against (rebounds and odd man rushes) and therefore our goalies will have much better numbers. Last year what dragged down the Save % for Hart, Elliott and Jones was their PK save %,which were atrocious. As we know the Flyers had once again the worst PK in the league last year, and again I expect this area to be much improved this coming season. |

Having a guy on the fourth line that can only play 6 minutes when the games count is not helping your team |
