Agreed! I like our D, now time to fix the O.... - Lawless18
Simple concept. The offense needs changes and big ones. |

Im not sure I agree. 7th in goals in 19-20...15th in 20-21.
Sure they can always use more offense, but I don't think its as big a deal as you believe it is. This teams issue is keeping goals out of the net. If they do that they will score plenty to win games. |

For me it is more of the mix, JvR, Lindblom, etc. on the third line or someone who plays a heavier game? Just not the right mix at this point...... |

I can probably agree with that. However I do think this team will score fine.

The offense is not the problem, sure everyone would like a sniper or a big physical winger like josh Andersen but the forward group is far from the issue |

Hopefully can Atkinson is a good fit, we have the perimeter guys already. |

People bring up goal scoring like it’s an issue. The goal scoring at the beginning of last season was the ONLY reason we didn’t finish as a bottom 5 team in the league. |

Statistics are helpful. But when the other teams are winning 3-0 in the first we are chasing games. Numbers never tell the whole story. - Peter Richards
Translation: I will always look at every #/stat and try to see it describes EVERYTHING.
Since no #/stat can describe EVERYTHING, and was never intended to, I will find that "flaw" and then use it to support a thesis that is my favorite narrative.

I like the swap with Atkinson. I think he will provide goals and be good for kids like brink. Even tk. Allison may be able to provide some as well.
With the wing depth we have I would like to see g as the 3 c or have one of the better 4 th lines I. The league with him at 4c. Keep laughts on wing. With g maybe Oscar and Allison.
We are still deep at lw. |

I’m not concerned about our offense.
We have 4 former 30 goal scorers (JVR, G, Atkinson, Couts)
We have several guys who have hit 20 (TK, Farabee, Hayes,)
We will have a full season of Allison, Frost, and will have more supplemental scoring from Laughton.
On defense, we have 4 guys who are capable of hitting double digit goals too. (Ellis, Provy, Yandle, Risto). Although I don’t imagine Yandle will get enough time to get 10 |

It may be a fair point to make that the defense became bad when they lost all confidence in the guy in net and it just mushroomed from there. - Letterkenney
Weird thing is the opposite seemed to happen.
They gave up a ton of shots and chances in Jan-Feb, but Hart was still above water.
Then the team cut shots against by a whopping 33% in March, but Hart's SV% plummets to .815.
Pretty much the same story w/ Elliott.

What excites me is the potential improvement in the PP and PK numbers. That alone should vault them into the playoffs. The big wildcard is Hart...without a big year from him nothing is possible. Cant get too worried if they get off to a slow start with all of the changes, I'm expecting that |

werenski extended 6X9.58 wow
The Athletic had a great article about Jones were paired perfectly, so much so that Jones numbers dropped drastically away from werenski. I guess we will see how they fit with new partners. Most top D need the right partner, Provy is not alone. |

No question that Hart went into a complete mental meltdown. Remember that press conference where he just looked like a defeated child in depression? For all the talk about his mental toughness in the time since we drafted him, THAT was truly both sickening and sad. I hope that the time off has given him a mental reset. |

Oh, do you’re saying we dropped 8 spots in a year.
Voracek is a much better offensive player than Cam Atkinson. So we lost offense. |

Giroux’s production continues to dip. Is JvR going to be reliable enough to build on last season. Not to mention both players are one season older. Voracek traded for a lesser offensive player.
This team can score but this team can easily get out scored when this offense chooses to not show up or not play a full 60 minutes. This is the hallmark of this team. |

They’re is a optimistic fan every summer, even though we see the same results every year. The offense always starts strong and dries out by season’s end. |

With Jake gone, am starting to wonder which of the remaining forwards are capable of carrying the puck up the ice and over the blue line. Frost? Is G still capable?
Otherwise, we're in for a lot of chip and chase and pray. |
