How about we give these guys 30 games and then you can be the “I told you “ I was right all along. Then you all can impress each other how you know more than everybody else.
- Angus4444

I like the lineup right now. A whole hell of a lot more than years passed at least.

Would I like to have seen JVR moved for a cheap 3C and open up money for a better backup goalie? Absolutely. But the front office has made so many much needed moves this offseason I can’t expect them to fix every thing in one off season.

I can see why fletch kept him, had a good season, trains his ass off and is money when it comes to 20-25 plus goals. With a lot of change you need some things you can count on

I wish I had a dollar for every time you claimed I said something only to be wrong about what I actually said. This is a repeated issue with you.

Below is a projection of goal scoring for the Flyers lineup this season. Imagine Frost or your favorite young player getting that 12th forward spot and depending on who and usage they might beat the two goals bar.

I know some are too low and a very few might be too high, but it doesn’t appear based on players potentials that scoring would be holding them back.

Total team goals = 302 (estimate is a top 5 team in goals for)

Couturier - 29
JVR - 27
Giroux - 23
TK - 24
Atkinson - 30
Farabee - 26
Hayes - 21
Lindblom - 17
Laughton - 15
Allison - 22
NAK - 8
12th forward - 2
Thompson - 3

Provy - 11
Ellis - 8
Sanheim - 9
Risto - 7
Yandle - 5
Braun - 2
Morin - 1

Depth call-ups (Phantoms prospects) - 12

- NC Flyers Fan

Having Allison score 22 goals is a big stretch. There is only so much ice time. Only so much PP time.

My expectations

Couturier - 29
JVR - 21
Giroux - 17
TK - 20
Atkinson - 23
Farabee - 21
Hayes - 18
Lindblom - 12
Laughton - 9
Allison - 11
NAK - 4
12th forward - 2
Thompson - 1

Provy - 11
Ellis - 8
Sanheim - 9
Risto - 7
Yandle - 5
Braun - 1
Morin - 1

True. It’s just he’s got the easiest way to open up money with that contract and we do have a good bit of wing depth now imo.

I'm guessing 239-goals, and I even feel like that's probably a dozen or so too many:

Giroux (16) Couturier (27) Konecny (24)
Farabee (24) Hayes (16) Atkinson (18)
JVR (21) Frost (9) Allison (14)
Lindbolm (12) Laughton (9) Aube-Kubel (7)
Thompson (1) Other (4)

Provorov (8) Ellis (12)
Sanheim (5) Ristolainen (5)
Yandle (6) Braun (0)
Morin (0) Other (1)

Yeah, thought someone would notice, but that’s what Allison does—put the puck in the net.

When poop was hitting the fan, our last two head coaches went running to the Giroux, Couturier, Voracek line. Who gets on that top line now and sets up G?

If Carter Hart plays 50+ games and turns in a .910+ SV%, they'll make the POs.

The Athetic did a deep dive on Myers and his play. They posted about 10 different plays where he made a decision on a lack of effort that resulted in a goal.

However.

As much as they were bad decisions or soft plays, some of those plays would have been erased if the goalie had made a makeable save, in a few, an easy save.

It was like a cascade effect of bad things that happened over and over again. Bad decisions, bad coverages by other players.....

https://theathletic.com/2...-turned-into-a-step-back/

The last goal in this sequence...

1st and 3rd of this sequence....

Fletch was right, the way they lost the forward almost constantly tells me something about the Flyers coverage scheme that other teams saw and exploited. The coaching staff either never adjusted, or the players never executed....or both....

- MBFlyerfan

Thanks for the comedy minute, an the reminder to everyone how much Myers Sucks. You could see not only the bad decision making, but how weak he was in 1 on 1 battles. He was toyed with on that last goal in the 2nd video!

Oh, do you’re saying we dropped 8 spots in a year.

Voracek is a much better offensive player than Cam Atkinson. So we lost offense.

- SuperSchennBros

Ya, I'll miss watching Voracek skate in circles in the offensive zone for several iterations before he gets tired, turns the puck over, doesn't back check and then skates by his goalie with his head down after another goal against! Ya, Jake is an offensive juggernaut!

I actually think Hart can be even better then that. I like the 50 game area as well. I think they are a better team and despite a few little area’s where they can upgrade I’m excited for the season.

Challenge for a Cup? I have doubts. Might have a run in them. Who do you see as the measuring stick in the league?
- MJL

There are not many measuring stick teams IMO, but obviously Tampa is right at the top of the list. Maybe the Avalanche, Golden Knights and Boston only because they seem to do it with 1 line and a bunch of lunch pale guys season after season.

I think the Flyers forward group still lacks speed and a sniper so ultimately that will hold them back in the playoffs against a top team. Defensively on paper this team should be a lot better, but we won't know this until the season plays out. I think the most important thing is to make the playoffs and then anything can happen from there. We saw that in 2010, and in 2019 when the Bruins marched to the finals and didn't have to play the Caps or Tampa on their way. If everything bounces right for this team, they are capable of making a deep run IMO. But I know, you can say this about 10 or 12 teams this coming season.

That’s been the problem…no young guys presented a better option. I don’t think I can blame those 3 for last year…I’m not sure we could realistically expect more. I expected the Flyers to make some bold moves, and they have. Now let’s see if it can translate to more wins and a better overall team.

Just a prediction, but I think both Hart and Jones will both be around a .915 save % this season.

There are till some holes, but Rome wasn’t built in a day. The season doesn’t start for 2 1/2 months. I still think Chuck does something else.

We can make the same videos for every player on the team. You continue to use hyperbole. Why would an NHL GM trade for a player that sucks? Is it his analysis that is off base or is it yours?
