Good in the AHL. Responsible in the NHL. Hasn't had a bread out. But the staff like him alot. We shall see if he can get some production and maybe earn a higher role.

So far so good. Has done everything the coaching staff have asked of him with a good attitude (per T Mac). Led the AHL team with points / game metric. He seems to be good at everything (aggressiveness, scoring, ect) but not great at anything yet. I think he will be a good well rounded player.

Danault is ideally a 3rd line, shutdown center, good on him, but the Kings vastly overpaid in money & term.

I don't know that I agree with "vastly," but I agree they overpaid a bit.

The Habs were very strong 5x5 play, and Danault was not on the ice all game.

Danault with the Kings will be a buyout after three years......

Phillip Danault was the only reason the Habs "qualified" for the Stanley Cup finals. That team is absolute garbage without him.

It's a fine signing for LA and I think the stuff about it being an overpay or too much for a guy who's ideally a 3C are overblown, the Blues won a cup with a $5M 3C in Bozak and Steen on the 4th line making almost $6M, Tampa just won a cup with two $5M players in their bottom 6, the Isles made it to the conference finals with Pageau at 3C making $5M and a pricey 4th line, if you can make it work it works.

The Kings should have some good young talent on cheap ELC's for a few years which will help offset Danault's contract plus some money coming off the books as well in the next couple years too, don't forsee Danaults contract being much of an issue for the term of the deal, maybe the last year but by then so much will have changed it doesn't really matter too much.
