I don't think Eichel is a good option either with all of the risks and cons that come with trading for him. We were desperate for a #1 C for a long time which was very hard to get, but getting a #2 shouldn't be insurmountable. Worst comes to worst, from what I've looked at in regards to Perreault, I don't think he should be a too bad at slotting in as a center to take defensive zone draws and face offs in general. This team isn't going to struggle to score whatsoever, it's more about replacing the defensive skills we lost from Danault and Weber.

We're in a pretty strong division, no doubt. I'm confident we'd have no issues if the #2 C and right handed PMD issues we're solved, but as it is now we're either 3rd in the division, wild card, or will miss the playoffs by a bit.

I'm still optimistic of his potential. Adding a center is more of an insurance thing. I think we need the PMD more tbh. I think Savard on his own is an inadequate replacement to Weber, and in any case not the PMD for the PP we need.

Now once it starts, I don't expect Bergevin to sit on his hands if things aren't working out.

Hopefully Jordan Harris does sign with the Habs at some point... I think he can have an immediate impact.
