Do you gentlemen/ladies think there is any way Dubas deals Morgan Rielly before he actually has to pay him what he's worth. With defenceman contracts going through the roof it might be possible. As much as I hate the Leafs, Rielly has always impressed. Never evades the press even after the Leafs take it on the chin for the umpteenth time. Solid solid hockey player

1) Montreal - Toronto - they aren't trading their top d man here

2) Despite what you hear from Leaf fans, Reilly is a decent d man and if he were gone the Leafs would be an even greater mess on d

3) Acquisition cost. If the Leafs were to even consider it, the price would be so crazy to not be worth considering

actually I find defense wasn't so much of an issue compared to offense in the playoffs, with all the scoring power they had they just couldn't get it done. of course a lot of credit for that goes to Price (and Danault, lol) but still the true offensive stars didn't really show up that much
