there is no need to retain part of eichel's salary in a ranger trade
all that is doing, is bailing them out for the 4.5 mil they have on the books for buyouts this season - homiedclown
I would rather not trade him to the rangers but if 2-3 million retained gets you laf+, you don’t pull the trigger? |

Good post!!
I would much rather take on a salary dump than retain but that’s just me. I think it’s more principle (optics) than anything. If 3 million retained gets it done, I might bite - skullthrash

Is that you terry? 🤔🤣
Jokes aside, is this because it’s the Rangers and they’re in our conference or because you’re not retaining any salary no matter the deal?
I think we have to be realistic here. If retaining a small portion of the salary gets us our most desired prospect(s), you do it |

Nope. No thanks.

I’m fine with this. Fair on both sides |

Is that inside information?
Im not opposed to either situation, I just don’t think we will get a great return if we don’t retain salary. I don’t want this to end up like another ror situation |

we are not getting a great return because the 10 million dollar boy has a neck issue and has yet to get a surgery
of course once the trade is made, I expect to hear he is fully recovered and no surgery is needed

agreed on the bold, but we can’t just buckle and cut our losses. Adam’s needs to juggle all possibilities and if getting the best return involves some negotiation like retained salary, cap dumps, and protected 1sts, you have to consider it |

no way in hell, imo, that they're getting anything close to that from the rangers |

Not a freakin chance in hell would I do that.
I would take a Cap dump for 1 maybe 2 years while the roster is absolute poop.
Trading Jack, and paying them to do so?
The end-times are truly upon us. |

Taking a cap dump is the better case, no question. But if that cap dump doesn’t give you their best prospect, you may have to consider retaining salary. If not, this may be another ror trade where we end up with scraps |
