Financial concerns would be alleviated
Damage to the franchise would not be.
Bad surgery would = no trade return
Rules in place for the team doctor to decide.
Why break the rules and favor the player? - Boss34
His body...THAT trumps bad look for Franchise |

Yeah, it's all fun and games until Jackie misses a paycheck.
He's gonna fake injury over losing $
If he sits out, he's gonna be in buffalo for 6 years potentially 😀 |

That's the most common sense thing. Letting jack sit/ get healthy to maximize return and really let everyone know kAgM is in charge . No bag of burglands.... - Boss34
yup
returns suck, do nothing
he will pout and be a no show for training camp and maybe around Jan show up and ready to go
then move him when return is better
or dump him now to the worst place outside of buffalo which would be arizona, the habs or the sens |

His body...THAT trumps bad look for Franchise - IonSabres
Technically his body his choice, but realistically he's under a contract that states exactly what choice he has.
Which is listen to the team doctors.
Bad look also isnt including bad asset management.
Sure were off the hook for $50 million, but he is a tremendous asset for this franchise.
Can't risk that coming off 4/8 last place finishes |

Here's what I don't get...WTF is wrong with just signing Zibs for the 10 mil....he's a damn good player and the odds are zero the Sabres are holding and the Rags aren't going to keep both Zibs and Eichel or they will be entering Toronto territory of tying up to almost 50% cap in 4 players. - Leninthebuff
He’s no Eichel and not good enough. He’s average 1C and a really great 2C |

If we could just be competitive and in the hunt thru January, maybe he has no choice but to dress and play.
If there's been 1 talent in buffalo Sabres history to not give up "too early" on its eichel.
His age, his position, his controlled contract.....
Terry the fan is having a tough time getting rid of eichel.
I bet it's an expensive time of the year at pse and terry just came into some big bills I'm the mail. With no real revenue coming in. Reality.
Similar to my shell shock of opening my season ticket invoice. Made me instantly want to keep jack.
If they trade eichel, it's at least 3 more years of losing. |

This is spot on. Zib is worth $7.5-$8m max. He’ll be 29 and has had 6 concussions |

Flying solo ☝️
I didnt come up with the concept, although I introduced the thought to the board.
We're not "helping" the rags, we're helping the Sabres get the best return possible for our franchise center.
Retain vs. Cap dump.
No loser taking up a spot being miserable
More teams able to take on eichels contract
More teams willing to take a risk on his injury
Getting rid of skimmer (in 2 years) makes this very possible
I do absolutely agree with paying eichel to beat us in the playoffs or them winning the cup on our dime.
That would suck.
Laferierre and kakko ...... - Boss34
I can give you a major difference in retention vs dump. Term. No dump will be 5 years. If I’m KA and they want 5M over 5 years, Laf and Kakko + or walk. |

I still wouldn't do it. I'm not paying Jack Eichel for the privilege of getting my ass kicked in the first round (God willing they make the playoffs in the next 5 years). I have no doubt he'd put up 10 points in 5 games |

Don't know Pach's, is there something else going on, really weird situation. - Buff36
I'm sure there's a lot going on behind the scenes. Jack's camp got defensive with their press release and the appearance of their doctor, who does "minimally invasive" surgery furthered that notion.

I'm not going to go back and forth.
I appreciate your imput.
The board is better with you around.
I heard sam was gone %100. For a long time.
My guess was his value was pretty minimal. - Boss34
Yeah, the most popular opinion was that Reinhart was gone, only because everyone (correctly) believed that he personally wanted out.
From what I’ve heard, Buffalo offered him a longer term contract (even a few different ones with varying amount of years), but they had jerked him around twice with bridge deals (in his mind) and he wasn’t interested in staying. Sabres wanted him to stay, but had treated him kind of like a planB previously, Samson was done with it.
The only thing taking down his trade value was his contract status. All other GMs would trade for is one guaranteed year of Samson, and the cost of that one year was as of yet unknown.

Or the track record of just putting together the best season of his career.
Also are all gamblers degenerates or just the ones you don't like?
I like how people will draw conclusions because their past automatically makes them guilty.

Not sure what you’re defending, but Kane has proven to be a giant POS his entire career. He deserves absolutely no benefit of the doubt |

I actually watch a lot of Ranger games and can honestly say I disagree. He had his games or a decent period here and there where he was executing but unable to finish but most games I’ve watched like I said he is not noticeable at all imo. Maybe I’m watching the games that he’s coincidentally invisible but that’s not likely. - Cptmjl
Ask the regulars over at the ranger board and they’ll tell you the same thing I said |

 - Hank Balling
Other GMs waiting to see if maybe the owners step in and say get a deal done right now?
His agents seem to be trying to trigger Pegula to an angry, “get that (frank)er outta here!” |

Kakko looks like a very underwhelming top 2 pick.
I’d be very displeased if he was a main piece for Eichel. |
