Dude that's what was said.
I listened the whole thing was not understanding how the Players Association allowed that to be in their CBA. The players signed off on it, that was what was said not only by White, but Paul Hamilton - Stripes77
Multiple times they referenced the cliche "its his body its his right" , as if the Sabres were forcing him to ingest thalidomide or enrolling him in a secret CIA LSD program. Jack Eichel is not facing an existential threat. He is trying to have his cake and eat it too. He wants to protect the 50 $million dollars. I would to, but thats what it is. The CBA says the team gets to decide. If he doesnt like it, he can file a grievance and go to medical arbitration. Why is he not doing that? Because its just about being a malcontent crybaby who is having a tantrum because he's not getting his way. Everyone has seen those kids at the store. Bad! |

Kyle was a terrific player for the Isles. I think you have to hold the Sabres accountable because obviously Islanders knew something about Kyle’s medical history because they just let him walk and never offered him even a low ball deal. There were a lot of rumblings on Long Island that he was damaged goods and Garth Snow knew that. Obviously speculating that may be the Sabres just simply didn’t do their due diligence with his medical history - BringNYIhome
If I recall, they did try to bring him back in the 4M range. Clearly the open market was the way to go.
2016 will go down in infamy with the amount of dollars given to guys with a bad shelf life.
At least Kyle is still useful though. Could be Matt Moulson. Love the man, great guy. |

i think Harrington has actually blocked about 70% of Sabres fans on twitter lol, even more than Paul "you said a bad word" Hamilton . He loves his hot takes and throwing shots but cant take any return fire. Its annoying that they constantly put HArrington on Sirius NHL radio as the Sabres guru. He's just Clint Eastwood in Gran Torino shouting Get Off My Lawn!
i have to admit, this Sabres bleepshow is strangely entertaining. Maybe im a masochist. Its amazing that every time you think the Sabres have hit rock bottom.... they pull the old, HOLD MY BEER. - DanielEtvs

Moulson is a great guy.
One of my employees played with him for the Ontario Reign. He always took care of the kids. It's too bad his feet slowed down as much as they did.

i think he goes way too deep into whatever hot button political and social issue of the day is. And its never in like a self depricating or tactful way, its very preachy and arrogant. Probably the wrong market for that...but in a 1 sports station town the ratings will always be high. Remember the day AFTER the Bills drafted Josh Allen? Those guys were literally almost crying on the air. White actually said that the Pegulas only like people who like god lol.
Mike Augello was great on the radio w Bucky at the Lockport station. Bring Mike back! Not gonna lie, I am looking forward to listening to the 3pm trainwreck today too. Lol what else do we have as Sabres fans but marinating in the misery

I don’t know all the specifics about medical arbitration, but from what I understand about the 2 surgeries is that the one the Sabres want will essentially guarantee that he needs a second fusion surgery within 10 years and it could cause back issues for his entire life even after retirement, while the one Eichel wants could be one and done, and if not, they can just do the fusion later?
The issue is that no NHL player has ever done the surgery Eichel wants, but it has been done in other high contact sports and the recovery has been fine.
If this is all true, it’s pretty poopty by the Sabres as they essentially want Eichel to get a stopgap surgery that allows him to play in the immediate future, to benefit themselves as they won’t care that he needs another surgery 10 years from now when he’s no longer on the team. |

I mean to me that's more of a human right kind of thing if you asked me.
But to play devils advocate, the Sabres have the final say based on the contract. - Stripes77

Agreed.
Unless they file medical arbitration which puts dr against dr and that usually doesn't end well

Yea, nobody actually said that.
Basically nobody can understand how the NHLPA allowed the wording in the CBA to let teams have controls over players injuries.
I'm on board with Eichel getting surgery, let him have it.
The Sabres have completely botched this IMO, I understand Eichels frustration.
The SAbres refusing medical records is insane.
Convenient that the interview basically put Eichels records out there. - ImThatGuy
this proves you dont understand
