Stafford was worth a 2nd or 3rd at the deadline

Armia was a 1st rounder and had value, and since has become a very solid middle six player

Lemiuex was a recent 2nd rounder

We traded the equivalent of 3 first rounders and a second and third to get Kane and take on Bogosian

Armia is a bottom 6 player on his third team. We have no idea if we were offered a 1st for Myers that year, which I doubt because his value tanked at that point. Lemiuex is a good 4th liner and Roslivic is ok. No where near trading a center in Oreilly in the prime of his career

If we’re using that logic then we actually have no idea how bad the ROR trade is because for all we know Ryan Johnson goes on to be a Norris caliber defensemen

The point is we traded multiple first round assets and second round assets AND took on 5 years of a negative value defensemen for a forward who was average here and a degenerate off the ice

He didn’t win a Conn Smythe or Selke in Buffalo or Colorado. Therefore saying we traded one is just disingenuous as it’s making it sound like we/they knew he was one when we made the deal
