I mean that’s where they were in all honesty. - dadeadhead
I think most of the posters who think Miller was a fringe elite goalie
never saw edwards, sauve or barrasso in a sabres jersey |

Looks pretty okay to me out there - Stripes77
Pretty bad look there. Means nothing concerning actual medical diagnosis, but bad move a few days after having your agent and doctor sing songs for you of a serious issue that needed immediate attention. |

Yeah, you those guys can be carbon dated (just like you old fogies). Barrasso played for the Pens...to me. |

Miller the king of losing a shutout in the waning minutes. |

It doesn’t matter what the pieces turned out to be
If we’re using that logic then we actually have no idea how bad the ROR trade is because for all we know Ryan Johnson goes on to be a Norris caliber defensemen
The point is we traded multiple first round assets and second round assets AND took on 5 years of a negative value defensemen for a forward who was average here and a degenerate off the ice
It was a terrible trade - sbroads24
We traded one 1st rd asset (a 1st rd pick) no other asset was worth a 1st. Sure Johnson could be a Norris winner, even though no scouting report is saying that. We did trade a 2nd line center in his prime and get worse every year though … |

I don't agree
Armia played 2 NHL games when that trade took place and we invested a first rounder in him. He's also one of the better third line players in the league and was given a nice contract because of it
I believe Murray even said in an interview that Vancouver had offered a late first in either '13 or '14 for Myers and Murray turned it down.
Stafford would've at least fetched a 3rd (probably 2nd) as a rental
And we literally just had drafted Lemiuex with the first pick in the second round
How much would you have to pay a team to take on Bogosian at 5.1 million for 5 years? Probably a first.
They paid a boatload of assets for Kane. What those assets turn into years down the road is irrelevant to me

Sabres don't make smart moves - SABRES 89
I think he'd be really good with Skinner as a pass-first, speedy center and he'd take some pressure off Mitts and Cozens.
I'd really hate to see the Sabres put too much on the kids plates (again) |

Hopefully he's working his ass off this summer. Kid has nice natural ability. I don't think he's ever going to be a true 1C but I'd love to be wrong |

The discussion is Miller currently, in case you didnt notice.
also, Murray even admitted falling in love with guys in junior/when they were drafted and had tunnel vision on them. |

I’m indifferent on Miller
I think Ruff’s system is very strenuous on goalies and Ruff was Miller’s only coach here.
I think he’s in the hall of very good, borderline great |

Miller has a higher career Save % than Brodeur.
Discuss.
Tom Barasso had a sub .9 career save %

if the kane and lehner trades did not happen
the sabres would have been in the playoffs for the last 4 years
eichel is happy
reinhart is happy
and phil housley is probably still behind the bench |

Kane beating up that Russian panther 3 times in one game is a top-10 drought moment.

Tyler Myers in a Housley system would be interesting if he was still in blue and gold.
