Indeed, therefore do you think that most Sabres fans are overestimating Eichel’s value?
The return most fans appear to want is what Eichel is worth if he was 100% healthy, and didn’t demand a trade.
Because of the injury and trade demand, his value is not as high. - rangerdanger94
Fortunately we dont know anything about the injury and what it entails. Clearly until someone takes serious interest in trading for the player, then we wont know.

Holy cow, more like my reaction every time I see you post how Eichel isnt worth it. DONT Trade for him then. You arent getting Eichel for scarps. If you were, he would already be traded. Get over it.

Mario Lemiuex Kris Letang both had next surgeries and enjoyed or have enjoyed very good careers after fusion surgeries. Just gotta wait and see how this plays out.

That's simply not true, as the buffalo GM is clearly going to wait it out as long as possible. There is no "hard deadline" to move him now, so he is going to wait, but there are definitely some "soft deadlines" coming up - the start of training camp, trade deadline, next years draft - where he may decide to take the best offer on the table, or a hard deadline of July 1 2022 where Eichel's NMC kicks in and the Sabres have to pay him a $7,500,000 bonus.
So while Eichel hasn't been traded for "scraps" yet, it doesn't mean that he may not be traded for scraps eventually, it just might not be until before the July 1 2022 "hard deadline".

I can guarantee you one thing.
The scraps will come from a team that is a 3+ hour flight from Buffalo Niagara International Airport, unless those scraps come from Montreal.

aw I was looking forward to a Chris Drury special of a 5th round pick and a signed Derek Boogaard puck.
Yeah. But the talent level is significantly better. Except in goal. - Michael Pachla
There is more offensive skill but not many of their D can play in their own end unless Dahlin learns how in the offseason, Joker is inconsistent top four but beyond that? Maybe they will get something in an Eichel deal or another deal.
