Still very surprising Lou did not clean house with Bridge when he took over. Bridge has been an issue for the longest time. - ses111
Willing to bet that Wang/Snow gave him one of those long-ass contracts like Garth had to stick around the Country Club forever
Probably costs too much to get rid of him |

Leafs can beat that offer đź‘Ť - mr.sir
Yeah most teams can. Thing is cizikas has turned stuff down and only wants to be an Islander. |

Pretty sure the Leafs can't afford to pay him anything actually
Plus, even if they could, they'd have to make sure that they could squirrel away some money to pay Josh Ho Sang |

Crowded group at forward — we think
Nothing’s changed as far as announcements of Islander contracts as of Tuesday. Kyle Palmieri will remain an Islander; so too will Casey Cizikas. It’s pretty certain Travis Zajac will be back as well. Zach Parise will be an Islander. Depth forwards Michael Dal Colle and Anatolii Golyshev are believed to have signed deals. Richard Panik came over in the Leddy trade. Leo Komarov and Ross Johnston are also still here, entering the final years of their deals.
So that’s a lot of forwards with NHL experience — possibly 16 if Beauvillier, Kieffer Bellows and Otto Koivula all remain, 17 if you include Golyshev, who was in the KHL the last eight years.
There’s not enough room for everyone, obviously. Some contracts can be buried fully in the AHL, but everyone except Oliver Wahlstrom requires waivers next season. More bodies have to move out before training camp begins — several more if the Isles are still in the hunt for Vladimir Tarasenko or another top-six wing. |

Blues signed Kyrou to a $2.8M deal today. Left with about $3.5M in cap space and still don't have Thomas/Sanford signed. Pressure is going to be on to move Tarasenko. |

Maybe, I'd imagine they'd like to keep him though. I'm still not dying for Tarasenko, but I'm still pretty intrigued at the idea of adding him |

Islanders luck they do not trade for Tarasenko and he remains healthy and has a monster year. |

Can’t afford to. He’s the big piece in the Tarasenko trade. |

It doesn't sound like Wally will be getting a chance this year.

That would be painfully stupid. He's already proven he belongs in the NHL, sending him back to Bridgeport would be bad for his development. I hope to hell they don't trade him, but I can't understand why they would think sending him to the AHL to play Travis Zajac's rotting corpse would be a positive for his development. |

Look at that logjam of forwards. If the article is correct and they are looking to sign Zajac and Parise, then I don't think they intend to send them to Bridgeport. They're certainly not trade bait, so it's very unlikely they are part of a deal.
I wish this nonsense was over and we knew what the roster was going to be. |

Maybe, but that's one I wouldn't understand in the slightest. I don't think Travis Zajac adds more benefit to this team than Wahlstrom in the short term and I don't think playing in Bridgeport helps Wahlstrom grow in the long term. |

It wouldn’t. The kid is ready for a full time NHL role. What’s more, he’s cheap. Sending him to the AHL benefits neither the player, nor the organization. |

Blues do not really need sanford. But as soon as Lou pulls the trigger on Beauvillier, wilde for tarasenko 3.5 retained. They will be able to sign zack for arbitration. value and with how he performed last year wont be an increase.
