It is literally only a matter of time until Sutter is on PP1 and on the wing with Pettersson or Horvat. - 1970vintage
Well he did have 9 goals in 43 games last year playing with no wingers on the fourth line.. Imagine if he was playing top line. The man is a God damn sniper
You know that Greener will be itching to get Sutts out there as much as possible. Hopefully Shaw is standing behind him with a yard stick during games to smack him when he makes a mistake.
I really cant imagine taking what Miller brings on the top line including being the guy willing to step in front of EP and drop gloves with people taking liberties and shove that on the 3rd line. I cant imagine how soft the 1st line would be with those three you selected.
JD was brought in for 3rd line C... and he's one of the best shut down forwards in the league according to his shot suppression stats from last season.
That is why I laugh when media think they know how to fix things and they suck - VANTEL
Well at least Imac revealed what I have been saying: that the JTM at 3 deep center is a real go to option. JTM said many times he prefers playing center.
Offensive players don't rank lines so much as care about minutes, PP and partners.
No offense to NH but BB likes playing with Petey and JTM NOT BO. Green also hasn't deployed BB with Bo when he has other options. Booner doesn't realize Petey is one of the top Centers in the NHL. Green saw that too. But he's right that top line needs power guy.
So starting roster if no additions is about shooters with set up/diggers & duos:
Podz Petey BB - killer offense with set up and power
Pearson Bo Garland - 2 way dig and bash with speed
Hogs JTM Motte - 2 way play driving face off support
Highmore JD Sutter - Shut down line/ LH&RH faceoff /counter capability
Green likes wingers on natural side. Canucks short one for JTM's right side. So barring additions there is hope RSW Klimovich makes roster at some point. Motte bumps Highmore if not injured.

3 of those in one game (1st career hat trick)

You are so under appreciated here.
For the record I would not have Highmore or Motte on my team.

Yes he'll be a utility guy as only RH face off player on roster. PK1 plus, if playing on shut down line, with JD against other teams top line. But PP no more as Canucks have 8F and 4D above Sutter for that.

I wouldn't mind seeing Horvat Pearson and Sutter as a shut down line or if D1cky is better at shutdown Sutter with him.

How the hell does a part time center get credit as being on of the top centers in the league?
He starts 5 on 5 as a winger.... plays wing on the PP... top center my ass.

They are not my preference either but Canucks like them more then bubble players. Probably cause they give more options for PK then ZacMac, Gadj and Bailey.
When Klimovich earns spot they'll go. But as we have said Canucks aren't done yet. Plus agree cap not an issue to add another RSD and top 9 RS center/winger.
My guess given Sutter's fragility they target a RH Center. Grabbing a camp fall out by trade or waiver might be plan. Don't see any UFA/RFA worthy.

I think Gadj needs a lot more time and against a real AHL roster not a watered down one. I don't see a bright future for Zack and Bailey is just okay for a call up short term.
IMO.
