Why would you perform system upgrades during peak times in the US?

its this whole thing about not wanting to be too successful in life so sometimes you need to put up barriers to success

I did some more digging on our non Owen Power prospects, and a common theme to a lot of these guys is that they are dogs on the pucks. Not afraid to battle, high ceiling talents.

Will be interesting to see how the Rosen pick works out. There were a few names there they could have gone with that would have made more sense but I can’t say I watched too much of Rosen to make a hair judgement.

This draft, from a very early look, seems decent. We have Mitts and Cozens long term. Seems a center is coming back in the Jack trade. We now have quite a lot of wing depth, still have Laaks, Samuelsson, Bryson and Johnson as young defenders.

Honestly, I don't think our prospect pool is bottom of the barrel as some say. About middle of the road now, especially with guys like Peterka and Johnson looking like good late 1st-early 2nd round picks.

Agreed. Wasn't my guy based on what little I'd seen. At the same point, I can't blame KA et al for taking a bunch of home run swings, him included.

Yeah, I think it's a good possibility that like last year, our second round pick forwards could end up better then the first round forward.

Rosen will be good if he hits, but he's a boom or bust

🙋‍♂️

Signal received.

Great28 is a true center, with the ability to play both wings.

A swiss army knife of talent.

He's a guy you notice at the games in person. Aggressive, strong two way player. Gives it %100 every shift.

Curious who signed the contract as well?

Ralph who is not a good nhl talent evaluator

Or

Kevyn who is not proven to be a good NHL evaluator. 🤔

* eichels first game, goal vs. Columbus.
* the Carolina overtime 2 blue time ot goal ek9 -eichel
* 10 game winning streak
* ek9 beating up the panther guy 3 times and holding up 3 fingers
* eichel 4 goal game vs. Ottawa
*winnipeg game where McCabe destroyed laine / brawl
* ot penalty shot eichel vs Edmonton
* ror ot I believe where he went back hand from 1 knee
* mceichel 2 bylsma starts larrson vs McDavid, 5 seconds later its 1-0
*arizona tank game head to head
*chicago tank game where toews scores to win late, guy tripped over a stick?

The truth is that there is now going to be a lot of prospects in the system now. Whereas before, it was generally 'Sabres 1st round picks end up in the NHL in a year or less, and then there's a bundle of low end guys hanging out in Rochester or unsigned and developing.

Now after this draft, you've got a bundle of guys that will be in the system between 1-5 years, all varying levels of talent, from high end to lower to safe to volatile. I would be stunned if our prospect ranking dropped. We drafted 11 players and took one back with Reinhart, so really we added 12 bodies to the pool. An that's a lot of pee.

I can see why. He has some special skills but likely dropped due to physical NHL readiness. Once he's here, I think we're going to love him and Poltapov.
